My brother's in the western end of the province and from what he tells me, many people there buy from the mainland. Macdonald Auto Group in Sydney seems to be the go to dealer and will drop ship vehicles over the ferry.

He did say however, that on the eastern end, Avalon isnt that bad to deal with:confused3:

You could be right Jason. I'm on the east end of the rock and basing my findings in what's on this end of the island. You have to remember that being on the Eastern side of the island everything has to come by ship via Nova Scotia to the western side of the island then be trucked across the island before we see it so that's all added cost. Maybe the fine folks on the Western side have an easier time to by out of Provence based on location and possible cost.

All I can say is before I purchase I do my homework and my dealer have been very competitive in their pricing and that's even making comparisons to the US Kubota dealers pricing. My son was stationed in Corner Brook (Western part of island) a few years ago and I went looking at tractors over there and they didn't have much competition to contend with so maybe that's the cause of the pricing issue over there! :confused3:

My brother is in the CB area. We were looking at housing prices there over christmas. From that, its not just tractors that are overpriced!! CB has a very expensive housing market!

It's like it all around Here. I'm in CB North. A few years ago a small building lot was $20.000. Now its $70.000. Got to love the oil boom lol

Oh yeah.. Its totally amazing the changes happening in Nl thanks to the offshore. Unfortunately the new riches are driving up the costs for everybody and sometimes making things like home ownership out of reach for the average guy.
