John Deere 110 TLB
I received my first tractor a few days ago but I just got a chance to drive it for the first time today. It seems to be very slow. When I move the lever it does idle faster and go faster but that still seems too slow. What should I do?

41gpaws,

What range is the transmission in?

It is not clear to me what you mean by is slow. Is it the tractor travel speed( max travel speed is 26KPH) or hyd. movement speed(loader movement).
You said "When I move the lever it does idle faster and go faster but that still seems too slow" The level you are talking about is it the throttle? Does engine rev up?
There are three speed ranges A= low,B=mid and C= high

One more though the travel speed is controlled by what range is set and by the forward and reverse foot peddle on the floor by your right foot ( sitting on tractor)

Is the parking brake on?

I am talking about the tractor traveling speed. By lever, I'm talking about the throttle and the engine does rev up when I move it. I was not aware of the A B and C for speed range. I bought it with 500 hours. The previous owner told me where the original manual is located as well as the original VHS that came with it. I will watch the tape and go through the manual. Thank you for all the help. Will keep you posted.

Lots of good information in the manual, I recommend you read it from cover to cover first. Then watch the video which will provide some answers to other questions you may have. This forum and members such as myself will be here to help with other questions you may have so becoming an active member here would benefit you. There are several members here besides myself with the 110tlbs'.

Increase engine RPM to ~1800 and put transmission in "C" range. On level ground, you should see a speed increase. You can increase engine speed higher, but start out low if you haven't tried this before. While I sometimes wish mine had a higher top speed, it will move right along in "C" range.

Thank you for all the help. It turned out that the tranny was on A and throttle was very low. I am back to being happy with it. I'm disappointed that it does not have the remote for the back hoe but I do have a remote in the front. What can the front remote be used for? Again thank you for all the help.

Two thoughts for "What can the front remotes be used for?" A 4 in 1 bucket or a grapple.

Connect angle control for snow plow.
When you say no remotes for the hoe, you mean the one for a thumb(up on the hoe)? Do you have the three rear remote, located behind the seat on the left hand side.

I didn't know there were three rear remotes by the rear seat. I'll check later today. What are these three remotes usually used for?

... What can the front remote be used for?...

As stated by Zebrafive: 4-n-1 bucket or grapple. I have also used the front remote to power a hydraulic auger. Worked very well.

The rear remotes can be used for any hyd. control of attachments on the 3pt hitch, they are controlled by the joy stick and with the two switches on the right side of the seat DSC08950.JPG and the thumb control on the joystickDSC08933.JPG, these also work with front remote.
There are many attachment that use hyd. control, some are box blade or rear blade with TnT (top and tilt cylinders). I am sure others will list many more.

I just checked and didn't see the three remotes in question. Does someone have a picture?

These were taken with the hoe off.20121029_182248.jpg20121029_182131.jpgYou can see the green, yellow and red caps.
The three rear remote were an option that had to order when the tractor was built.

I don't have them. One more question what does it mean by a lift capacity of 2,727 lbs. at pivot points?

They measured the lift capacity at the pivot pin the loader bucket "hinges" on. Capacity will be less at the foward edge of the bucket.
