First off, I was not present for this, but my co-workers were, I just happened to be on rotation when it happened.

They were walking back from the grocery store and observed this car idle by that was riddled with holes. The driver slumped over the steering wheel bleeding profusely but still alive. No idea if he lived or not.

We had a saying in the office that there could be a riot going on one block over and you would never know it. This was exactly the case. None of my co-workers were shot at or injured. The hotel pictured is across the street from our compound.

Came close once. A drunk pointed a gun at me in a bar. Being 18 and invincible, I told him F you! He looked at me strangely, put the gun away. We have had several accidents or idiots with guns incidents around here. I know 1 guy who shot his brother deer hunting. Sound shooting. Another guy was trying to fix a AK 47 clone here last year, he killed the kid next to him.

I think you had some bad luck! neat lil german gun...

that was a very popular pistol in europe.

it was imported as a la fury and a chicago cub.

55-65 ys of manufacturer.

company was bought out by umarex I think.

neat lil top extracting gun.. grip forward it is slightly reminiscient of a raven.. but it's tailpiece is longer than a raen/phonenix.

that type of firearm, when they are having those problems, I'd look at weak recoil springs letting the slide slam.. and eventually wear / distort or break. I have seen many 'cheap' throw down type guns with light allow frames do this.

Wow...some dandy stories...not the kind you want to repeat or seek out.
Myself, shot at a varmint with a 22 which was in front of a rock ledge....a line of weeds shuddered and collapsed from the varmint back along my right side at about shin height 3 inches away and continued on past behind me. I was maybe 11 at the time, by myself, took a while for me to figure out what happened, then got the shakes. have Always since been aware of nature of terrain behind my target.

I was showing my 5 year old son how to shoot his bb gun. I set up a target in front of a piece if corrugated tin. I thought it would make a cool noise for him. I shot and the bb came straight back and hit me in the forehead. I actually saw the bb coming but couldn't move fast enough. Embarassing. We got rid of the tin.

just put a piece of cardboard in front of the tin behind the target. or piece of styrofoam.. etc.

Count me among the many who have shot their own finger with a Daisy BB gun.

But the dumbest thing I ever did was to try making a short .22 barrel and tested it with, how else -- ball peen hammer and chisel for firing pin while holding one foot on the barrel. :laughing: The empty cartridge came out and put a dent in my finger that smarted for a good while. Valuable lesson there on equal and opposite forces, and it sunk in.
