Day 23

Came home from work today and noticed this sign on the road leading down to the building site:

Could they have actually delivered and stood up the foundation today?

Nah, but they did drop off 6 loads of gravel, so we must be getting close!

For some reason this struck me as funny. Here we are on a website admiring gravel?!? Some could think that was a little strange.

By the way, this thread is amazing. Great job.

Sure Lutt! Here you go!

Day 24

The nice looking gravel :D has been leveled and is now ready for the walls to be set on it.

The piles are gone!

A nice thick base in the basement:

Loaded up the rest of the cut logs for the final run to the mill. They fit just perfect. Was "only" a 14,120 lbs load though.

day24-3.jpg

He snagged it up in a single pinch and dropped it right onto the "hopper":

I then went back and loaded the junk hardwood logs that nobody wants and transported it the 0.5 miles to my place (no, I would not dream of driving a load like that on a public road with a single strap!) There was more than I thought and I still didn't quite get everything. I'll clean up the rest of the pile over the weekend.
