Two right now. A 15 foot xpress, newer boat but with my 97 model 25 horse Johnson 2 stroke. Avery blind on it. Use it for small water fishing and duck hunting.

Probably about a 2004 or 2005 Tracker 17 1/2 foot with a 60 horse Mercury 2 stroke. It rides nice use it for fishing.

Wife wants a pontoon but have kept her happy by just renting one a couple of times a year (my favorite kind of boat is a rented boat).

I started riding PWC in the mid 80's when a couch was a rarity and I think "seadoo" was still only making snowmobiles.

The two 3 person machines I have are mostly for guests and to waterski behind. To me, going out for a day on a sitdown is boring unless I'm just going into a new area and want to site see. I MUCH prefer the challenge and action of a standup. The main reason standups fell from popularity was because they have to be light and the 2 stroke is pretty much a thing of the past in it's simplest form. The other reason is that it actually takes skill to ride one. There is a learning curve and most people are not interested in investing the time to learn, they would rather just sit there, squeeze the throttle and ride fast. Plus, they can't ride a standup and hold their beer at the same time.

You gotta love those old 2 strokes. There bullet proof. Can't submarine a sit down! I have been trying to ride a stand up since the beginning of last summer. Hopefully this summer I will be able to turn without falling!

AroniaFarmer - the Wellcraft has a 200 hp Johnson OceanPro 2 stroke. It is the one that came on the boat.

Are the big 2 stroke outboards nice? I know there is less maintnece on them. Do they last as long as 4 strokes?

Mine is a 2000 model and gets used regularly. Regular use is important as well as quality 2stroke oil and proper fuel treatment. As far as lasting as long as 4 strokes, I can't say. I just know mine is 13 years old and has had only one blip with the engine. The over rev. limiter got hung up and it held the rpms down. Took several weeks and $800 to find out what caused the problem. Needless to say I don't use that shop any more. It has been a good motor.

I have a 1996 seadoo hx similar to the OP kawi. Its not the fastest machine straight line, but I have yet to see any other stock machine go thru a ski course faster than that hx. Blew it up about 7 years ago, than life happened. My son is asking about it now, maybe its time to get it going again.

We have a pair of Kawasaki ts 650s they are one of the first sit downs ever made by Kawasaki. They may not be as fast as a brand new wave runners but They are reliable and fun. Do you have any pictures of yours?
