Nice tractor.
Your requirement to lift a ton - have you tried it? Distance in front of the pins will difference but I can't lift a one ton pallet with mine, weight centered on the pallet and pallet as far back as possible. We had seed wheat in totes last year, tagged 2,020 pounds for one tote I remember, and I couldn't get it quite off the ground. We had to get our JD6230 which lifted it with ease but of course we are talking whole different class, heavy duty utility vs CUT.
Check the psi setting on your relief valve to ensure it is up to its max spec setting. I could easily lift 2,000 lbs with the LA853 on the 5030 after ensuring RV set to spec. Have not tried yet with the 5740 but I checked the RV pressure and it is below spec from the factory.
you are experincing what I went through after buying my L5740 the FEL is not equal to older Old IRON loaders. Had mine checked and its at the correct pressure and I do not want to shim it over the limit. Triple R confirmed his L5740 does the same as mine with the curll function and lack of power. I havent not been able to do my things just gotta go about it differently.
On my old MF 35 with davis loader if I hooked the bucket on am immovable object (tree root) it would lift the rear wheels off the ground and yes there are loaded with BB as a cwt. Not the same with the L5740
