Instant Pond

Dennis,
The cats are all still in the first pond. I put about 30 Mosquito Fish in the new pond last week. I need to put the minnow trap in the first pond again to catch more Mosquito fish to transfer. Also need a couple of pounds of Fathead minnows. I'll wait awhile for the pond to settle more before putting in cats. Besides, this pond is mainly for ducks, where they can sleep safe on the island. Booger does not like water, so no swimming dog going after ducks.

Ducks are cool. We had Mallard ducks and Pheasants when I was little......and we had a small duck pond also.

Booger is already nuts. He chases anything that moves. You should seem him going crazy when dirt clods hit the water!

A friend of mine emailed me for a pond update. So here are some photos from Sunday. I have started looking for ducks.

Google Maps has a photo of the pond and island showing up good. I think it was taken at low "tide". You can just see the smaller pond hiding in the trees. I can't figure out how to save it, so you gotta search yourself.

Do a screen capture using "print screen key" or use the "snipping tool" under accessories if you are using Windows.
If you are using Google Earth you can save it in the menu as one of "your places" tag it keep notes, make video captures and all kinds of crazy time wasting things.

Brandi, if that pond holds water well, it will be a much better catfish pond. It will be better with aeration, but you should be able to keep quite a few fish in it without aeration without them dying of oxygen starvation. It's an excellent looking pond with nice clear healthy lookin' water.:thumbsup:

I can't believe how different your trees look. Ours still look mostly bare and are just blooming or with tiny leaves. Yours already look green and lush. I'm always surprised when I drive south to Ft. Worth. Just 70 or 80 miles makes a world of difference in how the trees look this time of year.
