Dan did you finish building it?

Got me but it just did the same when I clicked it.

Barrel Ballast Finished! It'll sit in the driveway for a week and then go out to the ranch. I put a bunch of rebar in it. To fill it, I put the mixer in the bed of the truck and was able to dump directly into it...twelve 80 pound bags.

BTW, I asked the admin to ax the thread when, like so many times on this site, it began to weave off topic.

I received the same identical message yesterday when I attempted to go on another thread.

Well, it made it to the ranch. The photo doesn't show the 8 straps I put over and around it. Picking it up with the tractor was interesting. It clearly is heavy - 960 pounds of concrete alone. Finally, I can get out and start decimating the red cedar with the tree sheer.

Glad to know it isn't just me. I received the same message on a thread I had posted on this morning, when I clicked the link to view it this afternoon.

Sounds good, need pictures on the tractor.

What kind of tree shear? I broke a blade on mine and am looking to replace it.

ASAP but it won't look so sharp...blue against green/yellow. It's an M&M tree snip and it's massive at 800 pounds not including the 4' brush guard. I couldn't imagine breaking a blade on it. I'd sure like to know how you did it so I could avoid it myself.

The blade broke because it was not correctly repaired when the brace on one blade was rewelded by the manufacturer, when the original weld cracked on that blade.

It is an old three point cedar tree cutter that I mounted with some flexibility on a fork frame to use on the V417.

This is where the blade broke.

I was cutting a 10" diameter Oak tree, right next to another big tree. About half way through the cut, the end of the blade on the right came against the other tree, and quit moving, the blade on the left broke.

The manufacturer told me it was 1080 hard steel, they don't use it now, don't have any, can't get any, can't fix it.

I couldn't use the shear without it. I can't tell it's there most of the time though occasionally it gets used as a bumper. Half my neck is fused and I don't look behind me that much.

I have called two places, but haven't had the time to load it up and take it in to be looked at.

Good eyes! Look closer and you will see the hydraulic hose connector is broken also.

Very nice! I'm thinking of making one of these myself. What size square tubing was used? What are the dimensions on the triangles?
