How do you build a bridge over a creek for a Tractor

Yep, some culvert bridges can be ugly. Unless they are in Texas.

In Texas we consider this a small 6' culvert:

We built it for an ATV but it would easily hold a tractor if it were a few feet wider.

Just dump some rock on each bank and the bottom. Will firm it up and not rot.

Put down some mat first and then rocks on top. If you don't need to cross it when the water is deep, this is enough.

Around here, a bridge has to be engineered, a culvert does not.

Old trailers make good bridges.

Ok, that is a nice bridge. Had I the time and $$, I'd build several very similar though wider. And now of course you have me pondering what I could build with my available resources.

Here is the finished bridge, I need to put a load of gravel on the front and back to level it up a little.

Thanks

I used (4) 6x6x10 pressure treated lumber. I set them on footers that I dug out friday night filling each one with 5 bags of 80lb concrete and bolted them down.

Total cost was less than $400
