Cant believe I'm saying this, but the rain here is a PITA:laughing: I know in the "grande scheme" of things we need it, but maybe Brandie can share with us up North:D
Dennis,
Where were Y'all working?
You can't take our rain until my ponds are full. Sorry. Every time I plan on a big project or job........it rains. At least I finished the hay patch discing on Sunday. I got chased out by lightning and some rain Saturday early evening.............but it was just enough to get me wet. You can check it out here.... Amco Offset Disc - Page 16

I'm always telling my wife about something Jim says or does and she remembers him from our get together at TxDon and Karen's place where he cooked fried okra battered with Drake's mix. She says it was the yummiest fried okra she ever had.

A little bit of Michigan get's into the Texas Spring/Summer Thread. :D

At two Krogers in Conroe, the one on 336 South and one up on Davis St.

That Offset turned out pretty good, I guess you got the hydraulic lift working:thumbsup: Now you have to keep it 'busy"

Drove up this early morning from Conroe to Nacogdoches, fog so thick in spots it was 30mph for me (as little cars blew by at 75mph sometimes passing me before i knew they where there??) I hung out with the "big rigs" on this 2 hr drive,,, call me "chicken"

Oh, when Lou said it was "raining on the coast" he wasn't joking, I almost missed work, but it stayed South and West of Conroe. There is no doubt someone in the Houston area has a new tiller:laughing::laughing::D

That did turn out good Kyle, despite the fact that I melted the plastic top on one of my new tables. Every time I use that table, the 'wrinkles' in the plastic remind me of a great time. The table-top cooker I borrowed from my neighbor was NOT meant for one of those foam plastic tables. As I remember, I had to switch to a turkey cooker burner to get the grease going.

Ron: That Drakes Batter is definitely my favorite. Because of my diet, we don't use it often, but we keep some stored/stashed away in the freezer for special occasions.

Don: My Bowie weather forecast shows 37 F instead of 36 F, but what's a degree or two between friends?;) I'm not so worried that it will get to freezing, but you can get frost above 32 F if the conditions are right. This is supposed to set a record for low temperatures in May in this area. I'm hoping they are wrong. The last time they forecast in the 30s, it turned out to be 41 F. Maybe they will miss it again.

My two Canadian Geese are hanging around. I think they like my deer feeder corn and the new shallow ponds. They also eat new young grass where I planted it and have a very thick stand. These two don't seem in any hurry to leave. Maybe they know something about the weather that I don't. I'm sure when it gets hot, they'll decide this weather is not for them.

Shoot Jim, they probably think "they made it" with the weather we've had. I guarantee you one said to the other, "man, Canada is mild this year" Maybe it's "global cooling"

My neighbor was out on her morning walk at 7:15 this morning and called me. "I hope it's not to early to call." She said, "But you have two geese eating grass on your hillside." I laughed and told her they'd been hanging around all week. She's been so busy lately that she hasn't been able to take a morning walk. Her husband had a bad reaction to medicine last week and it took CPR to keep him alive long enough to get him into the hospital. After 16 hours, he woke up and seemed just fine. They have adjusted his medications and put in a defib-pacemaker. He came home yesterday afternoon. It's no wonder she hasn't had time to get her morning walk. Anyhow, she was overjoyed to see the geese and hear them honking up a storm this morning. I wouldn't want a whole flock of them, but two is nice. My cats don't know what to make of these big new birds. All they have ever seen are turkeys.:D

I would give a shiny penny for some good video of geese chasing a cat off. Seen it happen before. It is so funny. Puts the cats in their place.

Yep 2 geese are OK, but any more and you'll need a Pooh drag:laughing: When we lived in Colorado, there where times when golfing you where hitting the ball resting on goose pooh!! ( Close your mouth in these situations:D) Like you said, a couple I would greatly enjoy and the cats best lighten their Texas attitude with theses cranky birds.

Sitting in a motel in Nacogdoches......watching it rain:(...Doing my part to bring it home Wednesday or Thursday, but sure makes working outside tough.

Western; You'd better bring some warmth back with you too. Just looked at a forecast and they are calling for 36 out here Thursday night. I'm not sure my buckets and Tunnel Cover are tall enough to cover my tomato plants now, as big as they've gotten. :pullinghair:

Charlie,
I wish it was just a day. It took around 14 hours over two days with my tractor. I need a bigger tractor if I do it again.

Dennis,
The hydraulic cylinder needs rebuilt as it is bypassing internally. My plan is to not keep that disc busy.........just my backhoe. Less wear and tear on me and the machine and more $$$ per hour.
I'll take discing jobs here and there to remind me of my Dad's roots.......and to learn more on pasture rejuvenation for hay. Learning the ropes from the ground up:laughing:
Guess someone else got a new tiller...........it's pouring now.
hugs, Brandi

Off and on light rain here, just when I think it may dry out. I'm suspecting Jimbo is driving around with the tiller in his truck!!

Farmgirl, doing best I can to bring us some rain ( I hear there's a girl in Parker county that will dance "neked") but y'all will have to work on the cold "thang", plenty of work for me just drag'n rain North!!

Keep driving, Jimbo, and maybe I'll begin dancing earlier today. Looks like they have decreased our chance of rain to 40% tonight, and lowered the projected low for tomorrow night to 35. I am so done with winter!
