Attaching a 2 inch umbrella pole to a 4X4 on a deck - Need suggestions on hardware

Hoping to cash in on the TBN brain trust. I bought an off set market umbrella for my deck - link below. I want to remove the stand and mount just the pole to the outside of the 4X4 that is part of the deck railing on my deck. This way the umbrella hangs over the deck and we do not have apole/stand taking up room. I am confident that it will work, but what I am looking for is the best way to mount the umbrella pole securely to the wood 4 x 4 post and also do it in a way that looks good too.

Any ideas?

my take on the idea would be, buy 1 3/4" pipe Order Mild Steel A513 Tube in Small Quantities at OnlineMetals.com a couple of 2" X 4" u-bolts.
Paint to match/compliment deck colors. Drill holes in post to accept clamps, clamp 1 3/4" pipe to deck post, and slide umbrella post into the 1 3/4 pipe. that way it could be removed when not in use/ bad weather approaches.

I've seen something similar where folks use the next larger size PVC pipe and use pipe clamps to hold it to the deck posts. Works good. You can take it out when it gets windy.

Friends of ours used pvc pipe and zip tied the pipe to the railing.

The pvc pipe sounds good. PVC takes paint well. You could put an end cap on the bottom, drill a rain drain hole in it. Something to keep the wind/breeze from rocking the umbrella pole back and forth inside the pipe would be nice.

I would use stainless hardware if you can find it.

Definately paint the PVC to protect it from the sun as well as dress it up.

Take a run to your local pool supplier. Take a look at the floor mounts for ladders. You should be able to find some ideas.
