How did Oscar feel being left behind while ya'll cruised around Europe? Did you bring him back a souvenir?:laughing::laughing:

Looked like fun.

Eddie, is that Barcelona in your 2nd photo?

Yes. We flew all night from Miami and landed there first thing in the morning. I like this picture because it shows the port and where we ended up after the cruise.

Good Morning Eddie,
Sounds like you had a great trip and so did we. We got home this past saturday afternoon, finally got to bed saturday nite after being up about 24 hours...

I was wondering if I could post our pics on your thread, rather than starting a whole new thread on Italy ?;)

Thanks ! :)

Good Mornin Guys,
We started our trip the afternoon of May4th, flying out of JFK late afternoon. We flew to Madrid Spain, and unfortunately had a 5 hour layover before flying to our final destination of Rome, Italy. We arrived in Madrid early morning of May 5th. We finally arrived in Rome early afternoon. We took a taxi to our B&B, where we stayed two nites. Wanting not to waste the afternoon and also trying to acclimate to Rome time, we started to do some exploring on our own.

We had a nice lunch along one of the many side walk cafes' lining the streets of Rome. We than walked to St. Peters square, and after many pictures taken by Kathleen we wondered on. Even though I am not Catholic, I was really in awe of the beauty and architecture of this square and of course the history behind it.

I have included a few pics of our B&B entry, then assending five floors on a 100 yr old elevator and gaining access to our building by going across a cross walk 5 stories up...:)

The following we day we hired a guide, who brought us all over Rome starting at the coliseum, and progressing through the forum, arch of triumph, trevi fountain, spanish steps..... etc. I will include these pics later.

Here are a few to start..

Good Afternoon Guys,
Dont you like how Im stealing Eddies thread ! ;):)

Our first evening there, obviously tired from the trip but determined to stay awake, we walked down along the Tiber river to a section of nice outside restaurants. Here are a few pics along the river ... and where we ate our first night.

Also a couple of Coliseum shots from the next day...

I can almost picture Eddie out there in the Coliseum in his gladiator outfit, waiting for the elevator to be raised with a huge tiger...:D

Keep the photo's coming. I'm hoping to take the wife to Italy sometime soon. I was in Rome on business about 6 years ago and loved it. We were planning to take an Italy this year, but we got redirected to a different destination. we were looking at flying into Venice and then working our way to Rome and down to the Amalfi coast and departing from Naples. Maybe 2015.

Good Evenin gsganzer,
Yes we flew into Rome, then onto Montepulciano tuscan region, which we loved, back to Florence, then to Venice, then Lake Como in Varrenna, train to Tirano, then the Bernina Express through the Swiss alps, Bernina Pass 13,264 ft...

Anyway some more pics of Rome. I was very impressed with the Pantheon, originally built in 27 BC, burned and partially destroyed in 80 AD and then reconstructed by Hadrian in 107 AD, dont quote me on all those dates...:)

I seem to have my fountains mixed up sorry, my wife will straighten me out Im sure...:)

I just had a hard time comprehending on how they could do this type of craftsmanship with such crude tools, just amazing... the way the marble and granite were shaped and cut with such precision, it boggles the mind...
