Waxman, darling; there is a problem here! Your wife should be in the know about your tractor and also EXCITED about it! New tractors are FUN! Either you have done a poor job of training about the benefits of a new tractor, or there is another issue here Just sayin'!

 What a clever boy, you are! When you find yourself in a hole, quit digging!

Well, there are at least two smart people left in the world!!!! After being married for over thirty years I learned when to quit digging!!!

My wife's a sweetheart she know's she gets things done when I'm on the tractor, My B3030 did everything around here. She wanted me to go smaller, the BX to fit better in her garden. But she left the decision totally up to me.
Like I said she's a sweetheart.
Of course she knows about the tractor, but I don't think she is that excited about the tractor as me. She is excited though about the 8x 12 garden shed we just bought for her flower garden.

Waxman; I am female AND blonde. How would a wife think you were only raising the door on the inside? I stay so confused. :confused2:

To clarify, she thought raise the door track height on the inside.

Thanks ericdube,
Working on my door now, stopped for lunch. It won't be a big deal for me I'm just glad I had the room. With the new door it will only be 1/2 inch clearance from the ceiling, just made it with the 18 inch panel. I had two choices: remove a 21 inch panel and add a 24 inch panel to get the 3 inches I needed, or add one 18 inch panel and have plenty of room.

I have the same exact setup as you in my shed: Liftmaster 3800 (& battery backup) with wall mounted torsion spring. It's a great setup, but the only trouble I ran into with it is when it comes to lifting the door. You can't lift the door any higher then the point at which the lift cables are fully spooled unlike a ceiling mounted opener that can continue raising the door allowing the cables to unspool after full lift. Even though I could cut the physical door opening higher than I needed, I was ultimately limited by the lift of the garage door opener (no higher than ~84".)

As you can see by the green tape 3 inches would have looked like a mistake from the outside. 18 inches you would know it's supposed to be higher. I'm only doing one door so I hope it will look ok if not I guess I'll have to do both doors. Those were the only two choices in height without buying the whole door. Right now I'm going with the smaller tires even though the door won't be an issue. What do you think? the smaller tires look OK?

Agreed on the higher door height will look better. Will you have enough room to reframe the opening as it looks like you'll need to cut out the cripple studs and double header shown in the first picture? It's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like this is providing structural support to the framing above.

As for the tires, I think it looks fine with the smaller tires. Although, if you could fit the larger tires with the new door panel installed, then I'd probably go for it! :)

I'm sure the 3350 will be a good machine for you and with turbo  bet that will sound good. the 2650 would be less then what I had.
How long before it comes in? I have to wait for the backhoe.
Oh and my wife thought that I was only raising the door on the inside  until I put the tape up

Yeah, I can't wait to hear the sound of the turbo (should be cool!) I'm not sure of the ETA for the tractor. I heard maybe next week or the week after based on the last update I got, but I'm not too sure if they know when it will be arriving or not.

When did they say the backhoe should be coming in? I'm sure you're probably really anxious to get the new tractor! :)

Yes I have waxed it before.:D
I want to apologize to 4shorts for stepping on his thread, it started out me asking about his Grand L or Bx then it was about what I was doing. So I'm going to leave this thread talk about my tractor and let it get back about the BX and not about the larger tractors. Sorry to all the BX owners I'm sure they click on to find out about 4shorts next move instead they get something they have no interest in. I did not intend to do that
