It can be done, you just have to find that sweet spot. I never noticed the Rpm make a difference before, I'll have to give that a try.
To the OP, if your back gives you issues when mowing, I strongly suggest testing a ZTR in your yard before you buy it. You may be disappointed. I have a 2008 Z465, one complaint I have is the rough ride on rough terrain. I jiggle in places I didn't know I could jiggle!
That could be a deal breaker for you if you have back issues though.PapaPerk

Yeah no doubt! Deere needs to focus on quality equipment and not on maximizing profits by making bean counter influenced machinery.

The dealer came and picked up the tractor today. They were able to see every issue except the loader issue and as I stated before it only acts up when loaded. They did tell me something that I was not aware of. There is a floating mode in the loader dump position (lever all the way to the right) that allows the bucket to float. It is possible that this the reason that the loader acts the way it does. Can anyone tell me the advantage or purpose for this feature? He also showed me how the you can position the loader to operate two functions at the same time. You had better not be in hurry if you want to use this feature. Oh well it is possible to roll the bucket at the same time you lift or lower the boom.

I believe the extreme right float function is for a quick dump. It can be enabled or disabled with a lever / bolt under the floor. Mines disabled as I don't need it.

I don't know if they changed anything on the 1 series, but I have a 2320, 200CX and 62D deck and I'll chime in that my loader will curl and raise/lower at the same time. It's not that hard to find the spot and even fine tune the rate of rise and curl. As others have noted, if the rpm isn't up, nothing happens very fast with the loader.
As far as the deck goes, it seems to me that two decks with the same width and same setting on the anti-scalp wheels will give the same cut, at least as far as evenness goes. LIke any 60 inch deck, mine will look pretty bad if you try to mowe short on uneven ground. I switched to Gator blades this year and I don't see a huge difference in the size of the clippings, but it does seem like the overall cut is smoother.
