I am looking to purchase a new gas pressure washer for home use. I would like to spend $300-$400. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Ken :)

My suggestion, spend more money.

Pressure is cheap. 1000 psi will work but 1500 will be better. Any more and you will want to use 2 hands on the wand. But gallons per minute is what makes pressure washers earn their spot in the garage and that is what drives up the cost. Less than 1.5 gpm will leave you wishing for more, at least it does for me. For me, 2.5 gpm and 1500 psi is the minimum but that is more than your price.

Whichever PW you buy, make sure you can buy replacement pump parts. Don't buy a Sears/Craftsman, as they do not have any replacement parts for the pump. They only sell a replacement pump and it's almost the cost of a new PW. I can't remember where I bought mine, but I'll check tomorrow. It's been good to me for the last 9-10 years. I had to replace the pump seals last year at a cost of $40 dollars for the seal kit, but that's not bad for 10 years of service.

I bought a GENERAC version I think 3500PSI at 3 GMP w a 6 or so HP motor, was 379 last spring. Works well & happy with purchase, they sold one bigger but was like 600 bucks.

Okay, I bought mine from Northern Tool and it is a North Star with a Honda engine.
