Thanks. Sorry for my confusion... the older I get, the more often that happens. Beautiful new unit... enjoy. Great mods on the 3030, by the way.

I was asking a similar question, but deleted my post after I read he was going with the original tires. I think all would be fine if the tires were simply proportionally smaller, but it would still affect the trans. There's no guaranty that just because they were coming off a standard L that the front and rear would have the same size ratio. If mixing ags and R4's causes a problem, it obviously doesn't take much.

The dealer said it would not be a problem. The tires were L to L nothing to do with B's They were a matched set from the L3800. Not an issue now either way since I'm putting back on the factory r4's and the larger bucket. :(
The tractor just keeps getting bigger everyday, they grow up so fast.

Just for future reference to those reading this thread, there may or may not have been problems with the different size tires (I haven't done the calculations to know). But, I can tell you that the Grand L and the L3200/3800 are based on completely different platforms, so it is not just an "L to L" swap. That said, the L3200/3800 shares about the same gearing as the B3200/3300 since they both use the same size turf tires, and the B3300 uses the same size R4 tires as the L3200/3800.

Regardless, it looks like a nice setup and I think you'll be well pleased with the standard size tires, I really like the Grand L's.

Thank you , do you or someone, know what the tire tracks are for the L3240?
The 3240 Specs say, Overall width (min.tread) is 59.8 inches. Does this mean with the stock factory tires on the L3240 a 66 inch bucket will cover the tire tracks?
The smaller L3800 tires on the tractor now have a width of 66 inches the rims are offset deep dish. I would really like to keep the 66 inch bucket or 60 inch bucket if possible. Could the larger tires leave a narrower foot print? It would be hard for me to believe since there're so big. Here are pictures of both. I really do not want a 72 inch bucket. But I do want to be able to back drag the bucket over my tire tracks.

I remember some of the guys looking into this wanted R4's in front for better support for loader work and R1's in back for traction. That was one of the situations where the gearing setup, at least on Grand L's didn't always match up well with the rolling circumferences of the available tire sizes. If you read some of those old threads on the topic, some of those guys spent some serious time calculating lead/lag percentages, etc.

Actually, in one way I'm kind of disappointed Waxman went back to the original tires. I don't think anyone on TBN has a low-rider CUT and that would have been a first. The first mods could have been lifts, some of those under-chassis lights and a killer sound system.

The overall width of the rear tires will depend on how the adjustable rims are set. There is four different widths possible if I remember correctly.I had mine set to the third widest setting and it was just narrower than the six foot bucket.

What does Overall width(min thread) 59.8 inches mean? does that mean a 66 inch bucket will cover the rear wheel tracks?

All of the tire measurements in my manual are to the center line of the tire. I think there are only three positions for the industrals, the ags have a 4th position, narrower but I think the R4s will rub on the inside of the fenders. There should be a position that would allow you to use the 5'6" bucket without it being narrower than the rear tires. I would say that the wider bucket would give you more options but I only moved my wheels to the widest position because of the hills on my property and doubt I'll ever change them again. If your rears are loaded (or going to be) then I doubt you'll ever adjust them.
