Hi Darryl,

Thanks for the compliment. I've been TIG welding professionally for 13 years now and I use my TIG all the time. Aluminum isn't hard, it just requires patience. As far as parts go, I'm actually also the online parts manager at Freedom Cycle in Concord, NH and we sell parts for these machines too (we advertise a bunch on eBay and sell parts through our web site as well). There are a handful of parts that we can't get for the RT5000 (very similar to the H5013), but there is always a way to fix anything that's broken on the machine. From what I can tell, everything should be in working order once I get all the engine put back together. If I keep the rig (I'm pretty sure I will), I'll float out the dents in the hood and paint all the bodywork. If I get it running right, I want it to look presentable as well.

The next thing is to wash a bunch of parts tomorrow and paint the rear cowl of the motor (has dents to remove and it has a little bit of rust). Once I get this beast running, then I'm onto making the mower deck presentable, as it does have a bit of rust, but isn't rusted through. I know that I have to fabricate the front mower deck linkage as well, but that's the easy part. Depending on how bad the mower deck is, it may have the top piece of steel replaced altogether. I haven't given it a super good inspection yet. Here's a couple pics of that.

If I keep the machine, I'll also be setting up the 3-point hitch. I have an almost complete category 1 hitch set up that I'll adapt this tractor to use. I know that this machine is set up for a category 0 hitch (factory accessory) set-up, but category 1 would be fine on it if I'm only using it for light things. Also, I want to be able to move the same implements that I use on my Kubota B6100. I'll keep this thread posted!

Hi Darryl,

I just realized who you are. Small world!

You probably have me confused with someone else.....unless you used to live in S. IL? I don't own a commercial shop, although my middle son does a little fab/repair work for extra money. I just love to play with and do use a lot of metal working equip out of necessity ( remember the "toys/junk"). Have a small shop here at the house set up with a small Lathe, mill, metal band saw, plasma cutter, arc, mig, brake, shear, roller and the other small necessities. TIG setup and Iron worker will be my next main purchases.

About the only way you'd know who I was is: I have owned rental property and worked for Il Dept of Corrections for years. I have rented to hundreds and after 25 yrs., probably forgot most of them. I've probably "worked" with 30 thousand ( IDOC).....Hope I've never given you my, "Hey, we've all made bad decisions" speech. Church maybe?

I have been an avid off road MC enthusiast for 40 yrs though, but doubt you know me from that ( anymore you can call my riding style "Rag Doll") but I was never notable, except to my friends " DUDE! I thought you were dead! You think you can ride back with THAT rim and those bars"?.

Nice repairs so far

THose RT5000's were way, way ahead of their time. Still are for that matter. 4wd. 4ws. front, mid and rear PTO.. You cant get that in anything available in North America at this moment on its size. And throw into the mix honda reliability. Both my neighbours had one, Id love the chance to get one now (for the right price). They were a great blower and mower, which is what probably 90% of the TBN members do with their CUTs.

Some days I wonder what goes through Hondas head (I say this owning 6 Hondas). They got rid of their (excellent) tractors. Got rid of their independent outdoor / small engine dealers and combined them with auto dealerships (Honda Powerhouse concept). Got rid of their commercial mowing equipment. Made everything "fixed price" so there is no real negotiation. Gah... Seems like they really got their heads up their asses these days.
