Hi all. Been looking for a larger tractor with more capable loader than my JD2520 and am leaning towards a JD4105. Went to the Mahindra dealer and liked the fit of the 3616HST and though I don't care for treadles, the Mahindra set up didn't seem too bad. I will need aux hydro for grapple. Any 3616 HST owners have any good/bad comments on their machines? Thanks

3616 is ok....does everything I have asked of it......I bought it after having a pair of Cub Cadets (Mitz) with 1700hrs of trouble free operation....only thing that I had to do same on the old Cubs, was to move seat back 2 inches.... Long makes a slick power option for your grappler, I have one on 3616 and one on my DK50 Kioti only issue battery cable end corroded off I mean gone in the first year..all else is fine......but it is not half the machine of the DK50 but I didn't buy it to be

What do you mean by "treadles"?

What do you mean by "treadles"?

The single rocker pedal for forward and reverse like the Kubota uses. Not as comfortable for me as the JD twin pedals.

I've got a mahindra 3616 cab with around 150 hours on it now and I've been very happy with it. It's done everything I've asked it to do with zero trouble other than what I've caused myself.

Oh and Chubby how did you move your seat back? I'd like a little more leg room myself.

The plate that bolts to the seat tracks is what you will be moving. This plate is what the seat pivots on. Lift the seat and the plate bolts are visible. It was a lot easier on the Cubs (mits) than the Mahindra (mits). Plate pivoted with seat on Cub. But well worth the effort if you are 6' 250lbs. Or larger lol

I know I am coming late to this party, I have a 3616CAB, without HST and love it. In fact after having two other Mahindra's with HST, I prefer it without. The only think I need done to mine is ballast in the tires.

My 3616 shuttle with less than 200 hours has a transmission problem. The gear selector is hung in the neutral location, but the transmission is "locked" in 4th gear. Two speed selector and shuttle (forward/reverse) works fine, so I have a two speed (High and low). Has anyone else heard about this problem?

I would suggest creating a new thread in the Mahindra forum and you'll get more responses.

Bill, this is a 30 second fix on an open station, 5 minutes on a cab. It is just an external linkage issue. Your 4-speed shifter, like most Japanese and some Korean models, is made to shift in an H pattern. If you sort of go in an X pattern quickly, you can sometimes engage two gears. If you try to do it, you can't make it happen....but we get this call about twice a year and it is an easy fix. I've posted a solution before, but if you are like me you can't use the search function well enough to find old threads!

Under the seat, below your left cheek is a metal cover with 4 10mm (I think) bolt heads. It is sort of rectangular, and just inboard of the shifter. Take this off. Wiggle the 4-speed shifter a little and you can see how this works. You will see the sideways H shaped part of the mechanism and that you have got this in a jam. The H engages one or the other of the shift levers. When you pull it to the left, it does 1st or 2nd. When you pull it towards your hip and then fore or aft, it does 3rd and 4th. You can see how that works. Now take a Crescent wrench or pliers and put these levers back into position and all is well. Spray a little WD40 on it while you are there.

Let us know that this worked.

Anybody got pictures of their 3016 or 3616 logging in the snow? Mine I've only had for a month but am anxious to see how this size tractor does pulling a 2000# stem with a foot of snow on the ground.

Does the a/c work well on the cab model?? Are the vents in the ceiling? Good air flow?? Also, I would like a belly mower....does Mahindra make one? TIA

Vents were in the ceiling on my 3616 cab. Even in 100 degree Alabama heat it stayed cool inside. Make sure you blow out the coil in front and keep the screens clean though. Mine would clog up fast while bush hogging.

All you gota do is take a hammer and a punch and nock the fork back into place... it take all of 5 minutes to fix... the shift tooth just jumped out of the left fork before it got to neutral. just follow the shift lever down and you will see the fork out of place.. knock it back to line up with the right one while its in Neutral
