50 HR Service UDT, SUDR or UDT2?

As others have mentioned, following whatever the manual for your tractor suggests is the best way. As to the specific oil, I read enough posts on this forum to know there are advocates for almost anything you want to use. I think I'll stay out of that debate.

You are truly a wise man, I have never been flamed so badly as on oil/lubricant threads.

I still believe if your going to change it at 50 when the manuf says 200 or 300 or 400 hours, why not do it at 10 or 25 or 33 hours. The logic of figuring the cost of the tractor fluid changes are cheap, well it's the same price and theory applies at 25 hours. I'm now promoting all fluids be changed at 25 hours for those that can't sleep because of waiting for the manuf recommended hours.

I spoke with my dealer yesterday, they recommend doing the engine oil and filter and draining transmission to filters only and replacing the filters, they said to leave front axel alone.

It would be interesting to know how the intervals are determined by manufacturers and owners. I just bought a new car and the dealer said to change oil every ten thousand miles, I've always done so every five thousand. Being the same age, we have both seen a of of changes in vehicles, maintenance etc. over the years.

A friend of mine has some fancy shmancy car that has a light that comes on when you need to change the engine oil. He told me the other day it went 22,500 before the light came on, with synthetic oil. I was reading some material on Amsoil the other day and they are saying 50,000 miles or once a year for their high dollar synthetic.

I set my first check up for six months as I will do well to put 5-6k on mine a year. I need to check the manual to see if it has synthetic in it. I don't like cars, but it seems the older I get the further from the ground my truck gets.:eek:

I'm with ya Larry. If we take Terry's car it's because she's driving. I prefer to be in a truck. My boys tease me about my factory running boards on my Super Duty but I don't pay any attention. I use them every time I get in or out.

It is my understanding the Canadian market offers Super UDT,not the same as the discontinued SUDT or the new SUDT2.

When I bought HST oil for my B26 a few years ago, I asked for Super UDT and the Canadian dealer advised that the only option was "Premium UDT". This is what is says on the pails and jugs I bought.

There was no "UDT", "regular UDT", or "Super UDT" at that time.
