Third function switch or button source?

/ Third function switch or button source? #21
Have you received the parts? If so, a couple of questions:
How many wires, type of connector?
What is the diameter the grip fits?

Thanks!

Not sure what style of connector it is, I'll be cutting it off anyway.
There are three wires with two switches. One of the previous posters said he ordered one for a different tractor model and it had three switches.
The grip will fit a 5/8" diameter shaft.

My Kubota has a 1/2" diameter shaft so you'll probably need to make a bushing. Have you thought about how you are going to run the wires down the shaft? I think I would either use heat shrink or the nylon braided wire loom slid over the shaft before mounting the handle. I think the braided wire loom can be stretched to make it tight like the heat shrink but would be more durable. Either way I look forward to pictures once you get everything and assemble it.

Did the connector come uninstalled?
Can you post a picture?
I will measure my joystick diameter. Thanks for the info on size.
My joystick is hollow so I plan to run the wiring inside it.

What a great idea using the braided wire loom to conceal the wiring from the joystick.
I'm going to start using that for all of my electrical wiring needs

I post a picture when I get a chance.
The connector is factory installed.
The wiring exits the handle from a separate hole not he shaft hole.
The wiring loom is about 5/16 thick, you may have a hard time getting into the controller shaft.

I'd bet it is metric, and if it matches mine it is 14mm (> 1/2"...), which I suspect should work with a 9/16" bore bushing, if you have a drill bit that big. Anything over 1/2" gets spendy and hard to find - no average hardware store will have it. It is a bit of a bummer that Kubota didn't use a 12.5mm or smaller shaft, but this is a special deal that not many will deal with. In my case, I ended up making a new shaft as it was the easier route. I used 1/2" rod, which worked just fine with a 1/2" bore bushing.

I'm sure it's metric and probably 14mm. But a 5/8" od 1/2" ID bushing would work well. Just put a slit in it so it can open up just a little then when the grip is tightened up it'll compress the bushing acting like a clamp.

The grip actually thru bolts to the shaft with two bolts.

So the bushings can be a hair undersized.

I'm ordering all of the loom covering, relays and master switch today.....oh yeah and diodes for the relays also.
Just need to order the valve, sub plate, hoses, and a couple of fittings. I'll have to wait until I can get up to the property to take inventory of my hydraulic parts and pieces left over from other projects beforehand.

Now if we can just nail down a delivery date for the tractor.
I'm not in any hurry though.

Oh yeah I for got to mention the place I was ordering the woven wiring loom from also had weld on chain hooks imagine that!!!
3/8" weld on hook $3.84 each and if you spend $50.00 free shipping
ZoroTools they sell pretty much everything that you could imagine.

You couldn't do that on my grip - the bushing threads inside the handle, so no way to split it and have it thread in place. It wouldn't fit.

Wow, I cant touch that price! But they are G43 rated and not the usual G70 hooks.

I don't know what rating they are but....they're rated for twice as much as my loader can pick up.

Just need to read the fine print to be sure what one's getting. ;)

Yeah Brian you're correct. I didn't really pay attention to the G43/G70 rating just how many pounds they were rated for.

The last ones I bought from Tulsa chain were 3/8" G70 rated for 6600 Lbs and only cost $4.10 each + shipping. That takes the price up to $6.70 each. That is still an excellent price.

The ones from ZoroTool are G43 and only rated for 5400 Lbs.
I'm still well below the loader capacity.

I doubt they'll fail. I was moving my existing bucket (G70 Hooks) with the pallet forks and somehow one of the hooks got hung up on the pallet fork frame and the entire bucket was hanging on one hook side loaded. I was amazed it didn't break.
