Backhoe Mount Failure on Ford 2120

I just bought a 2000 Ford 2120 with backhoe.
When I used it Saturday some welds broke on the mounts. These appear to be the only connecting parts between the tractor and backhoe. Is there something missing, or if not, is this a common failure, and what is the suggested repair?

Maybe a hair line crack to begin with. Would be hard to spot at first.

The failed area looks as if it had been repaired previously, maybe more than once. I'd try to find a frame mounting system that places less stress on these welds. I doubt a reweld will last.
How do you like the 2120 otherwise? Love mine, but have no backhoe to sour things.

Also take a real close look where the top link attaches to the tractor. That area might have taken added stress when the welds you show failed. Here's hoping no cracks appear.
There are many threads on TBN about frame-mounted vs. 3-point mount hoes.

I have only had it a few weeks, haven't done much with it. It has done what I asked so far!

I am wondering if it is missing the top link. I can't recall seeing one. If someone has a photo of one, that would help.

That installation does not use a top link, and you should not install one. That is not a common failure and must have been completely overstressed when it happened the first time. The initial repair was of poor design and execution. A quality welding job including well-thought-out gusseting and plating is all that is needed.

I started it, potentially in the wrong forum first, and didn't want to offend anyone who was offering help, by closing a thread. Thanks to all who have offered suggestions, I have identified a welder local to the tractor, who has been referred by people who did good work for me, so I think I am on the right road now!
