Mis calculated the wet spot in a field, sunk my massey with the mower, un-hooked and hooked up the 4 wheel drive, still no go, hooked the massey to that and still no go. Loading up the bulldozer , that will get it out, and at this point I am going to need it to fix the damage anyway. Sucks, only hit it by 25 feet or so, and I knew better, just trying to get a little extra.

We need pictures!

I am not too good at things like that but if I remember I will try to take some with my phone, If my daughter tags along she will take some for me. I was going to go back this afternoon but, I think if I calm down a little things will go better tomorrow.

I knew better, just trying to get a little extra.

Twenty five years ago I farmed with a Blountstown Fl seed man. We did mostly grass seed, but a little peas, clover, wheat, rye and just about anything else that could be picked with a combine. Several of the fields had big mud holes, and the old man always told me to disc as close as I could, to help dry them up, but not to get so close as to get stuck. Like you, I wanted to get a little bit extra. The first time I stuck her wasn't that big a deal. The barn was nearby and the owner's grandson brought one of the other tractors and pulled me out.
The next time I stuck her, I really stepped in it. This field was across a creek and could only be reached by leaving the farm and going around on the county road. Plus it was the height of grass seed season. All the other tractors were gone on the road. The one thing left on the place that would pull me out was a combine, and it was in the back pasture cutting grass seed. As we worked round the clock this time of year, the boss man wasn't too happy about the lost time.

Forgot to get pictures, was on a mission and never even crossed my mind. Crawler pulled it right out, hardly even came off idle. Ended up leaving the 4wd hooked to it and pulling it out backwards. Then went over the rutted area and smoothed it up best I could with the crawler. Even that was sinking a good foot or so, way softer than I thought. Owner of the field came out and basically told me he was real happy I was fixing it up and he hoped I would cut a swale through that spot to help it drain. He told me as far as he was concerned it was my field to do as I pleased with as far as hay, drainage etc.. He didn't realize a had a bulldozer and backhoe to work with. Started the swale but it was pretty rough going as wet as it is. Will need to finish later in the summer if it ever dries up.
