62D Mower Deck - I'm tired of scraping it!

I have had very good results from painting the underside of the deck with POR 15. There was no paint left on the underside of my 272 when bought it, so I wire-wheeled the loose rust off, treated the bare metal with the recommended Metal Ready solution, rinsed and allowed to dry and then painted on the POR 15. That stuff is rock hard, very durable and provided a pretty slick finish when cured. I get very little accumulation of grass on the underside.

stop mowing wet grass and you wont have to scrape your fine paint job

Nooodles, grass has moisture in it self, Grass isn't like bone dry hay.

I think hes probably mowing it after a storm where it gets caked on the underside

Mowing the lawn on a sunny day still cakes up my mower deck, so why wouldn't it cake up anyone elses' deck.

Thanks for the recommendation. If the graphite paint doesn't last through the rest of the season, I give it a treatment of POR-15 this fall before I put it away for the winter.

Part of my grass is wet even if it hasn't rained for a week. In the shady areas where there are also some springs near underground, the grass itself contains a lot of moisture.
