No sleepyhead here! I was on the 1050 at 0630, after tending to livestock! Managed to finish brush hogging the section I had to quit on yesterday, because I needed to get more diesel! Then I came in, picked the garden, and made zucchini bread. Put 5 loaves in teh freezer, and will eat on one! I'll make zucchini pickles later today, or tomorrow. I froze tomatoes over this "holiday" weekend too! Not only does one make hay while the sun shines, but also does everything else when the harvest is coming in well. And the blasted neighbors have been setting of cannons (fireworks) for the past week now. Maybe after tomorrow night, they'll run out of stuff, and decide we can have some quiet around here between 10 PM and 1 AM! (Until New Year's) Been rough on those of us that get up before anything else.

And yes, jinman, the Peach Festival is next Saturday, and they are busy butchering trees here too! :banghead:

I'm finally back at work. Maybe I can get some rest now. The rain has slacked up. It has only rained about half the day so far. Chipola River is coming up, from 9 to 12.7' in a couple of days. I don't think it will really flood, but I will need to move the floating dock in the morning.
The wife just called to say she had already made two batches of pepper jelly. She did most of the prep work last night, washing, cutting and removing the seeds and stems. We eat it with everything from peas to pork chops. These batches were just jalapeno, so it won't be too hot.

Four years ago when my road was paved, I thought there would never be any good come from the quarter mile of big oaks I lost to the power line ROW here by my house and the quarter mile down the road at the old homestead. But hearing all the talk about the sideways mowers, I guess there is at least one good thing about it. Along the road on the other side of my property, the electric company trim my longleaf's with one of those rotary saws on a boom. It is much neater.
We have had problems over the years when the folks who contracted to mow under the power lines would run over your fences. They wouldn't take the time to go around to the gate.

Thank you for the kind words, they mean a lot.

Sometimes I do feel like hopping on a plane and getting out of here (as much as I love my homeland) but I can't for a multitude of reasons.

Hopefully I'll find employment soon, but until then I'll while away the hours winding up JDgreen227

Speaking of which, is Bill still around?

Bill is still around but he jugging tons of women right now and just doesn't have time for us as much.:(
