Walmart Manager Called Me!

I'm lucky, I haven't had to step into a Walmart in almost 8 years. I believe we still need the wic programs or welfare, but I also believe more severe punishment needs to be placed on abusers.

I have you beat! I have set foot in a Walmart only one time, in the last 24 years. Would not have gone in one in 2005, but had a flat on the travel trailer, and wanted a new tire, and to get to the next town to find a tire would have been almost 100 miles. Of course, WM didn't have trailer tires, so got a load rated truck tire, and put it up to be the spare when I got the new trailer tires on the ground.

I never found the savings at WM, and can find Made in the USA still in some other locations. I do believe that taking care of our own matters. Funny thing is, most of the Made in USA stuff is cheaper than the Made in China stuff. Go figure!

The bleeding heart liberals would never hear of it but IMO...anyone receiving government assistance should be listed monthly in newspapers etc...and one of the requirements to receive said assistance should be written quarterly reports from the beneficiaries of said assistance detailing what measures they have taken over the past quarter to (help) relieve themselves from needing said assistance...

And should be required to take a drug test at the time they applied for the "assistance", as well as random drug tests to continue receiving.

OK, I'll get off of my soapbox now.

They tried to do this in FL but the bleeding heart liberals nixed it...

Its OK to require drug tests for those that are supporting them though...go figure...

While most of us would like to see the fraud removed from the assistance programs there is a much bigger problem!
If you haven't heard, the vice president stayed in a hotel in France one night and it cost US (that's us, you and me) $585,000.00 for one night! He then went to England and stayed at another for $459,000.00 for one night! That's just the hotel bill, there were the normal expenses for travel too.

How many food stamp families could have been fed for just his hotel spending???????

Probably depends on the specific store. I would guess if they thought they could make the sale without getting caught or label the items as something else; it would be a done deal.

Have you ever noticed items laying on the checkout county at some country stores that gets scanned frequently but never leaves the store!!!!

Pretty easy to see what is going on!

I sure appreciate those of you who don't shop at Walmart, and I'm not being facetious; I'm serious. I'd hate for Walmart, or any other store, to have a monopoly because I do believe their prices would take a big jump. I also realize that some of you only have one or two Walmarts in your area and those may not be a place you like to shop. But it's a different story in high population areas. I think we have 7 or 8 Walmarts within 15 miles of home. And there's a big difference in them, too. We are in 4 of them frequently; only occasionally in the others. They stock different items in the different stores, and the prices vary. Just for an example: I like Pedro's Tamales (from Lubbock) and only one of the Walmarts stock those. And in the last couple of days, I've seen ears of corn priced from 28 cents each to 15 cents each to 10 for a dollar in different Walmarts.

Now I like Kroger's and Albertson's, too, we have several of each in the area, and I occasionally shop in those, especially for things Walmart doesn't have. For one example: Kroger's is the only place I know of to get Cranberry Beans that my wife prefers over Pinto Beans. But generally the prices at Kroger's and Albertson's are just too high compared to Walmart.

But to each his own, I guess. I have a brother who had a falling out with a Walmart manager, so he won't shop at Walmart; uses Target instead. We have a couple of Target super centers, too, and it appears from their parking lots that they do quite well and I'm glad they do. My experience with Target has only been high prices and bad food, so I very seldom go in one of them.

Seriously, not shopping there is like telling my how well your tax dollars are spent.
I shop there anytime I am close to it, or for large inventory purchases. I am very rural...40 minutes to Wal-Mart, and any local place will cost you a weeks check. I still have not found a place that compares to the oil prices at wally world. And the local grocer marks his stuff up 60-200% over wal mart.
Local places get some of my money, but certainly not all of it!

Not shopping at Walmart says I will not support their policies, in regard to "country of origin" of their goods, and I don't support the way they treat their employees. You are free to spend your dollars however you see fit. I prefer to help my neighbor have a better paying job, with a fair management.

It's all in how you look at it, and how important you think your actions are, long term.
