Good morning everyone, and what a blessed morning it would be. Seldom poster to this thread, but I do read it daily.

I am not working today, as I have the awesome privilege of grandson sitting. As you can tell - might have some help :)

He is my little buddy, so proud of him!

Congrats Dmd. I like the name.

I just got back online after sixteen and a half hours of no internet service. Went out at 11 last night. I called and the recording said they were doing maintenance and it would be back up by 6 am. At 8 I called again, same recording. We went on to Panama and it was still out when we got back. I spent almost an hour on the phone with the Fairpoint tech guy. He was a real trooper and tried four or five different things before he got me going.

Stopped by Sowell Tractor in PC to price a Woods finish mower. Found out they no longer carry them. They have Land Pride FDR mowers now. The prices were good, but I'll have to do some checking before I buy. I haven't ever used that brand before. I looked at a L3200 w/ FEL while I was there. I had to keep repeating my retirement mantra[want and need. want and need] and walk away.

Big storm, winds and rain to finish off around 19 or 20 days in a row of rain. Dropped 25 or 30 degrees in a few minutes. Big winds and it blew over about 75% of my sweet corn. Oh, most of it will still work out but it seems whenever you get confidently ahead of Mother Nature she takes you back a couple steps.

Land Pride does make fine mowers. I don't think you'd be disappointed.
Look into BEFCO as well...also fine, reliable mowers.

man that sucks about your sweet corn. I have had that happen a couple times it will straighten up some but makes a big mess.

Sam, I love the idea about keeping your pfd's for this rain...

did a little picking yesterday, one row of potatoes and the first good batch of cucumbers.

rain is on its way, may try to get a little mowing in before hand, but I think it will beat me here.
Drew that's some fine looking veggies. I have picked some squash and cucumbers will be ready by the first of the week, and that's all were getting so far oh I will have pea's ready to pick next week to. I can't wait to have me a mess of cream pea's and tators.

Thanks, I have been looking at Land Pride online. I'll check out BEFCO as well.
I liked the prices of the LP. $2K for 5' and $2.3K for 6'. That is out the door. The Woods I had looked at in Marianna were a couple hundred $ more. Before tax.

Larry, I have two Land Pride field mowers and both have done a beautiful job. I'm dealing with purely field grass, not small trees, so I have the blades sharpened and they mow
fields very cleanly. Since I also mow a few fields where I don't know what's in there, I prefer the durability of the swinging blade mower.
Both Land Prides are very quiet also. And built in Kansas I believe. Or in that vicinity.
The smaller less heavily built sixty inch mower is well made. The larger seven foot mower is a tank.
I'll buy any brand, I just started with LP due to their Kubota connection.
I'm sure there are half a dozen similar very high quality units out there. Rhino is another.
I would also check out Tractor Supply's offerings if they are close to you. Good bang for the buck there.

Interesting that I did have a spot of bad paint on my newer larger LP mower, with several inches of paint just peeling off.
Dealer redid it nicely. Someone at LP missed some prep work, it happens.
