Anyone ever deal with them?

Their prices seems amazing! I am looking for a complete 54 inch quick hitch blade setup and they have it brand new, complete, for just over $1,200 with free shipping.

I just want some user opinions before I consider doing business with a dealership some 2,300 miles away.

I just purchased a 3520 cab from them, see link below. I live near Denver and tried to work with the local dealers. The two closest were at list, around $9K more than I ended up paying. The other dealer is about 80 miles away and they came within about $2500 of Mutton. The tractor is now at Mutton waiting for dealer installed options to arrive. So far, so good, but there are warnings in the forum about getting warrantee work done by the local dealers, however I couldn't make myself pay $2500 more. So warrantee work is still a concern for me and I would appreciate feedback if anyone else has any experience with this.

I think the warranty issue is just a scare tactic. I wouldn't brag to them where you got it from but no reason to hide either. You may not be top of the list to get service done, but I can't blame them for that either as long as the work is done on a timely fashion.

I brought an american Deere 2320 into Canada. I had no problems getting the work done. It wasn't warranty work though.

JD dealers have to do warranty work on JD equipment. The issue will be how quickly they will do it. Work for regular customers will almost always be done first.

I can live with that and I guess wouldn't expect anything else. Thanks.

Where are you located?

I have a used 54" quick hitch front blade that was on my 2305. I left it in Montana at the dealer on consignment.

It may need a different adapter between the tractor and the hitch to work, but the rest will certianly work.

It was used one year and is in very good condition.

If your interested let me know and we can work something out.

I am located in the province of British Columbia on the West Coast of Canada. However, I used to be a long haul trucker, and I still have a lot of connections from friends and my old man who is still a long hauler. My biggest issue with buying from the U.S is finding a way to get it picked up, or shipped out to Washington near the BC border so I can go across the line and pick it up.

Which dealership is it at? Also, do you know how much they are wanting for it? I guess since it is on consignment, you could technically take it back and sell it direct, to avoid the dealer taking a slice of the pie, right?

I am looking for a used one because cash is tight, and Canada is super overpriced for this kind of stuff. My dealer quoted me $1,700 for a quick hitch and 54'' blade, not even put together!! I know what it's worth, and that's about $500 too much, even brand new. Mutton Power Equipment sells them for just over $1,200, brand spanking new.

I think AKfish bought his JD 5075M from them and had it shipped to Alaska

I phoned Mutton today, and all I can say is I am unimpressed.

Salesman takes down the info of what I am looking for, asks for my phone number. When I tell it to him, he finds the area code odd, as I knew he would. I told him I was Canadian, looking to make a purchase and ship it to Washington. His response was "oh, you shouldn't have told me your Canadian" He said he would get back to me within a few hours, never heard a peep from him.

What does it take to find a GOOD John Deere dealership? I spent $10,000 on their product, I want some good treatment and respect. Every dealer I have contacted has been stuck up. Apparently John Deere thinks they have the best product in the world, and unless you buy a $500,000 combine, you don't mean anything at all.

Actually I was hoping someone with a better memory might chime in here.

Short version of the story. My recollection is that 2007 / 2008 maybe even 2009 time frame Mutton was doing a booming business selling to Canadians, given currency rates, Canada vs US pricing etc etc. and they got their fingers severely rapped by JD corporate. Not necessarily identical, but as you know US auto dealers cannot sell into the CDN market.

Again, my recollection is that anyone who actually reported on their experience with Mutton was very happy and found Shane to be very helpful and knew his business. I spoke with him in fall 2007 with good results, but was able to talk the local store into a deal almost as good so did not make the cross border thing worthwhile. I'm sure they would love to deal with you and you'd more than likely be happy, but based on the past and as you found out - don't think they will knowingly deal with cross border shoppers anymore.

At one point I thought they had a disclaimer on their website to that effect, but did not see it today. Others may have better memory of events than myself.
