The counterweight that came with my BX was not so compatible with my quick hitch. The only way to get the top link attached was to use a small chain and the bottom links barely hooked on and would not lock. So I blame 4Shorts and his mods for getting me motivated to start gathering all the parts I had accumulated and finally put them together. The receiver tube was long enough to extend through the box and get welded to the front and back. Now it is easily mated to the quick hitch and is ready for work.
Old mount not so compatible:
New lower mount extensions top link solid bar and receiver:

Next project will be to rebuild my old log splitter, built it over twenty years ago and its time to upgrade, perhaps a winch or hyd lift to get the rounds up on the beam. Can't lift them like I use to.
