Hi Guys:
I wanted to put a heated tractor cab on my M/F 253 for next winter. The metal cabs are quite pricey so I decided I wanted to go with a canvas type. I had heard good things about Regal, so I contacted several retailers and they told me Regal went out of business last winter and they were unable to find a replacement. Does anyone know of another manufacturer of canvas tractor cabs? Thanks Don

I'm watching this thread also as I'm thinking about a temporary soft cab for winter.

Those are both nice options, I would probably only keep mine on in the winter and then remove it once spring came.

I have had one of these on a Cub Cadet GT3200 and recommend it What makes it different from other "cheaper" cabs is that the doors swing open instead of zipping open, no risk of having a bad dipper take out the whole cab.
Not built as well as a Curtis, but for 1/3 the price, it does well.

There were many options out there and it wasn't an easy decision to do it because I never did any fab work of that magnitude but I made my own. I did have some occasional help with it, mostly in the form of coaching by welding pro's and one guy insisted on shooting the orange.

It is made of steel frame and real glass and has a heater running on the engine coolant. The doors lift off and the cab itself has separate pieces for the front, each side and the top/back. I was able to remove everything by myself this past Spring except for the top/rear. That was a two-man job my one son helped with.

It was a lot more work than it looked like it would be but I'm really glad I did it. The one tweak I need to do before it gets cold here is to add some vibration isolation.

Thanks for the all the input guys, I appreciate it! It would appear that some or most of the options require a ROPS system for support but unfortunately my tractor which is a '91 does not have one and is a larger tractor. I have been considering a Sims cab but they are priced a little out of my reach at this time. I have also considered building a cab such as Chim has done but I'm afraid my welding/ metalworking skills and material sewing skills are a little lacking for such a project.

Try Laurin cabs. That is what I put on mine 9 years ago.
