About to place an order - sanity check, please.

Would def go 6' on the bush hog, would consider a third set of remotes, would get hydraulic top and tilt, and would consider a grapple with a true third function....aside from that I believe you've got a great machine and some really good advice for posters prior to me...

I really appreciate all the quick advice.
I had specifically asked the dealer to price in a 5' bush hog, because I was concerned about clearance around some of the wooded areas of my property, but if the extra width isn't that difficult, I will have him revise the quote.

You guys really have me second guessing the finish mower. The orchard and lawn are both smooth and in good repair. I have a CC 1046VT w/ 46" deck. I was just concerned that the hills were going to wear out the HST on it. Also, mowing is taking me about 2 hr each week. It has been handling it fine this summer, but I was including a finish mower so I could save some wear and tear on it and keep it running good for the yard closest to the house and buildings. Leaving off the finish mower would free up some room in the budget to possibly accomodate a BH. But, after buying the tractor, I'm not going to be in any position to buy a larger dedicated mower any time soon.

Suppose I keep using the CC for the lawn, would I be better off getting AG tires instead of the R4s on the Kioti, since I won't be using it on the lawn?
If I do end up with a BH, I assume it would prvide suitable couter-weight when I am doing heavy work with the loader.
What is hydraulic top and tilt?

I would ask the dealer to let you demo it with a rotary cutter, some times a smaller cutter is truly better than a larger one, especially if you are going to use it blazing trails in the woods

It allows you to adjust the length of your top and side inks remotely from the seat making it much easier to do dirt work.

If you want the best advice you can get, I suggest you let members know what part of the world you live in...at least the country and the state.
We have people from all over the world here. I really can't see the down side to letting that bit of info out. :anyone:

Remember guys he doesn't have any thing that really needs top and tilt yet.. he doesnt have a box blade or even a grader blade. both of those items can profit from TNT to keep from having to get off all the time to adjust angle of attack or tilt. As for the finish mower, that is up to you, I ran a couple of them and mowed fields after all the rocks were removed. and it looked like a park. I have no use for one where I live now.. As for the tires, ask 10 guys about Ag's vs R4's and you will get 20 different answers I prefer R4's for what I do, because they are stronger and take heavy front end loader loads better. But they are not best for everyone and all jobs.. everything is a compromise. Ag's give better traction in mud and self clean better in those conditions. If you decide to get rid of the finish mower, pickup a set of pallet forks. Maybe 600 to 700 dollars and well worth having.. Let me show you a website with lots of videos and how use some of this machinery. It is Everything Attachments.. an advertiser on this forum and a good outfit to deal will. I have bought several things from them and have been treated fairly.

James a hydraulic top link is one of the handiest things I have ever used with a rotary cutter, makes transporting, mowing along pond levies by backing down and easing into a ditch or mowing a drop off much easier.

Never really occurred to me either James, for years I adjusted our top link manually to transport between farms then got off to readjust to mow or change cutting height, already had hydraulic adjustable wheels. Man I got tired of crawling in and out of that tractor.

Also makes cleaning the inside of the deck easier. I just have a hydraulic top link
