In looking at finances I found I can move funds from our 401k as it is fully vested and I am over 59.5 years. By this I mean move the funds directly to me and pay taxes only with penalty, or into a rollover IRA.
So I am thinking of moving the funds as soon as I see the Fed is definitely stopping their $85B a month to prop the economy. I think not think the economy can sustain as many are doubtful with what is going on in the USA. I plan to move to Schwab IRA so I have flexability to move between CDs (laddering) when rates start to climb.
Another thing (or two) I found were a Roth and Traditional IRA with USAA that I put funds into 20 years ago for my wife and forgot. She never opens her email account notices and I never get them to open as they go to her. So we are leaving those, but they are found money since I forgot about them.
Lastly, we are meeting with an Elder Lawyer to put our assets into a Trust and ensure it is generation skipping so I kids and then grand-kids get our assets. We like our in-laws but do not want our grand-kids to loose if there is breakup.
We currently have a will which is OK for now as for my wife there would be no probate, but would be probate if we both go. I have a empty Living Trust with Pour-over will that I did on my own, but I do not not time to fill it thus why we are going to the Elder lawyer.
We had a bad experience with my Father and Mother's death because there was no will or trust. Thus we had everything straight for my Mother and Father in law so it was smooth and no probate when they passed.
Just some thoughts.
