Firearm Transport Question

   / Firearm Transport Question #42
What 3R said and recognize any book on the subject is probably out of date soon after published. Many states are changing their laws re:guns annually.
This entire subject can get VERY controversial and polarized. I simply avoid the issues and if I want to carry it my trusty Win 30-30. No CCW permit required, its always out in the open and its always loaded.

Well, I certainly didn't delete my own post, and can't really understand why it would have been deleted. So I'll say it again.......Thanks for all the input guys, I really appreciate it.

Seems like a few posts were deleted.....interesting. Must be nice to exercise that option at will.

Good thread, brought some interesting points to light. Good luck with the trip, Mark!

Yup, look's like TBN isn't even safe from tyranny:laughing:

Thanks for the luck, Frank. I'm sure everything will be fine.

Ohio has reciprocity with South Carolina, so I should be good to carry there.

I appreciate your opinion, but that's not going to happen.

Yeah, the route would be South through PA. on 79, then 68 east to 70east and 81 South. The only reason I'm going this way is to visit my Mother in Virginia for a couple of days. If I decide to go that way, I'm guessing if I stay away from the DC area I'll be fine.

Your probably right, I'm probably overthinking it. I just don't want anything silly happening. From what I read Maryland doesn't require you to inform the officer of a CCW license anyway.

See above. I certainly plan on following the letter of the law, but leaving it behind is not an option, unless of course that is what the law required.

I am retired SLED agent. Been retire from SLED for about 9 years. Call 803-737-9000 and somebody should be able to answer all your questions.

It's not a matter of tyranny...it's a matter of a non-political thread going political, which would get it closed. And much to my regret, I was part of that trend when making a response.

I get that Roy, and understand it completely. What I didn't understand is that my post thanking you guys for backing off was also deleted.

.....So, because you didn't get it the first time,........ I appreciate your restraint. Starting an argument was not my intention. Just wanted to ask a question.

By the way, the tyranny thing was tongue in cheek (hence the laughy guy).
