I bought a new 2012 LX410 last fall ( 41hp, shuttle shift ). Love it.....when it runs.

Think I'll be happy with it once they finally solve this issue. One other minor gripe....the lever for the 3pt lift is WAY too far back on the machine.....you have to really reach back behind you to raise/lower the lift......hard to do if you have any shoulder arthurItis.

I have to agree with you on that one. They should have extended the lever higher and angled it forward, vrsus reaching back for it. THink I will rig something up to this effect. The other thing that irked me was only a step on the L side.....seemed like everytime I went to get on, I was on the right side...:confused2: Ordered the factory step ($15) and with a little drilling and modifying, I now have a step on each side. :thumbsup:

QUOTE=clemsonfor;3423157]i agree not everyone needs a $3k tractor. due to ability and do they want to fix it every 2-3 years or not, in the case of them buying a new tractor from some company today. OH sorry i could not resist. But even i think Yanmar will be hard pressed to make as reliable tractor as they did in the YM series.

But you are correct. Every one wants shiny things. For many reasons. Sometimes as simple as the little man syndrome.[/QUOTE]

Wow...couple more slams....did I hit a nerve or something? :confused3::laughing:

I am talking about new Yanmar dealers. No one is talking about why the older Cub cadet Yanmar dealers are dropping the Yanmar line but I suspect that Yanmar US is taking their not totally dedicated to the Yanmar line and giving them options that the dealers don't want. Kinda like John Deere when a dealer doesn't sell enough of the big tractors they can pull their franchise. You like Harley davidson did to their old dealers that didn't want the million dollar showroom. They just cut them off at the knees so to speak.

Gotcha, which is probably why the Cub dealers are dropping Yanmar if they're pressuring them. Unless they're selling a lot of Yamnars.....:laughing:
With only 8 models out, it might be a struggle for a dealer to only carry Yanmar......

Yeah.....that is a good point about the step. I too plan to make a handle extension for the lift, one of those "round to it" projects I simply haven't gotten around to.

I did also buy from the dealer another fender 'handle' for the right side. I mow on some steep ground, and I like to have someplace to hold onto with my right hand instead of bouncing around so much. Same handle as on the left side, just drilled the right fender and mounted it.

Nah, just my personality type. Cant see emotion on the net nor do you know a person so sometimes things are taken the wrong way. Dosent bother me wether a person wants to spend $20k on a tractor or $1500.

Glad everyone does not drive $4k tractors, they would no longer be $4k they would cost more due to demand.

I cant say anything first hand on the new Yanmars so maybe shouldn't even post but I wont ever own one. Even though it is very possibly better quality than the rest that is a nice sized tractor and probably about as handy as pockets on a shirt if you need one.

fwtw I personally dislike Yanmars legal attack on mom and pop dealers trying to feed their family's selling perfectly legal machines and parts in a capitalistic society like the USA. They can do what they want in Japan we do things differently here. We can buy and sell to/from anyone we choose. You make very many people mad you loose brand loyalty and future repeat customers like me. my .002

Now based only on my machine if someone was to ask my opinion however....I would have to say to a potential customer they should be very very happy with the quality if its anything like my 30 yo machine is that's giving Yanmar credit where its due.

I'm glad I'm not in the US after reading these posts about Yanmar and their method of doing business there. I've just bought a FEL and am currently fitting it. It arrived in the 'Yanmar red' paint and has a Yanmar F18 sticker on it. That clearly identifies it as for my model - it was however made by a third party I assume so would cause upset to Yanmar USA

It was my original intention to obtain the FEL from the supplier of the FEL I got for my Mitsubishi as it has been great and is very sturdy. They wanted $6500 so I sourced mine from a different supplier at $3500 - so far it has been an excellent fit and looks just as robust but only time will tell.

If you obtain parts from the US ,it could have affected you. While I have no knowledge of the laws in your country,,I'm not so sure, that yanmar America couldn't come after the builder of your loader there. It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't try. They would stoop that low.

That loader definitely has a Yanmar f-18 sticker on it they could be in for it if they did it w/o Yanmars permission. From my knowledge that's almost exactly what started the US lawsuits and what they were trying to control. It looks quite a bit like a loader on my buddy's 1610d though his is a VN-2A QA which has self leveling similar to what I see on that one and was priced similarly. Its a real good loader though for him so far so you should be happy with it fwtw.
