Ah Shucks, that was too easy.

How about some of you folks asking a few questions.

Who discovered America. Note: Trick question.:laughing:

People from Asia across the Bering sea bridge that was dry land during the Ice ages.

The British Mosquito preformed many different roles in WW2.
Fighter, bomber, Photo Recon. I think it was also the fastest plane in WW2, although the P-38 wanted to go supersonic in a dive.

What was the unusual role it played???

Before jet planes & even for a long time after a propeller plane held the Stop to 10,000 feet record.
What was it??

The XC-99 Was a monster of a plane.
XC-99.jpg

It did 1 very unusual thing and is the only plane to that.
What did it do??
Would we want another plane to do it?? That is sort of a hint.

The DO 335 was probably the fastest, but I don't think it saw much, if any combat. The P-47 was probably as fast or faster as anything we had in straight flight. Wonderful aircraft, but a real gas-guzzler.

As this thread is moving more towards WWII aircraft here's a link to the Battle of Britain 70th Anniversary airshow at Duxford in 2010. The 16 Spitfire tailchase at around 36 minutes was impressive, aircraft everywhere. The video doesn't really capture it. The French air display at the very end was very slick. I made sure I attended both days. :)

Did this get answered yet?

Would it have been the F2G "Super" Corsair?

Can't imagine that engine in anything smaller than a Corsair!

You get the cigar, just stop by most any time & pick it up.:laughing:

Who has a guess on the XC-99???

New question
After many football fields were covered with Astro Turf, what had been a rare injury be came fairly prevalent.
What would that be???

One more
In WW1 the British developed & started using what then passed as a Tank.
How did it get its name?????

Knee injuries... more specifically possibly a torn acl?

"Tanks" were the name given to the project of the construction of the WW1 vehicles to disguise what they really were, armored vehicles. They wanted people to thank that they were building metal vessels to hold water or "tanks". But the name stuck and most armored vehicles are now called "tanks"
