We purchased a used trailer last year and the owner said everything is okay with the roof, no worry. The way how the trailer was parked in his court didn't give me the possibility to inspect it from outside. Once it was brought on our property I forgot to climb the top and inspect it, but I've got a suspicion that the guy knew about the roof issue because not after a year we found the ceiling in the back side of the trailer to be quite soft when is pushed, so I drilled a hole from inside just to check. The water drops came out so I start ripping off the walls; the result can be seen below, lot of mold as the water did a lot of damage. The next thing was how I can fix the roof. Checking how much will be a new membrane was a shock, almost $4000 for a 30' trailer so considering that I'll not move the trailer from property, I decided to go the traditional way with metal roofing and the cost was $400 + family labour. Now, we are looking forward for first rain and hope will not be too noisy.:D Here are couple pictures for you guys.

Did you leave room for the vents and the AC? It'll get pretty bad in there if not vented properly.. Just some small gables wont cut it. Especially for the AC.

No hydro on the property and not option to bring it in the feature, so no AC but yes I've got big vents on both gables for a good air circulation.

That's freakin's awesome! $400!?! Wow.

What about a portable generator for the AC? Do you run your lights off a vehicle? What about setting up some solar panels on that nice new roof? : )

Nice job!

We have a similar trailer with the same problem. I may use your solution.

Did you use screws or nails on the 1X4's?

I only know about "hydro" from watching those home shows that are filmed in cantinadia. Like Holmes on homes and the lady who buys and fixes and sells houses .....oh yes "Sarahs house"

I just priced everything to redo a 36 footer fifthe wheel for my father and found everything for close to $1000.00. That includes the rubber for the roof and also new underlayment. $4000.00 seems kind of high unless you were paying someone to do it. But if your not planning on moving it I think you chose the best option.
