Glad to hear things are still going in the right direction, even if it is a bit slower than you hoped.

Still in my prayers.

Thanks for the concern ....this tumor is taking it's own sweet time. Went to md anderson last week for 3 days of exams and Dr visits and the conclusion was " come back in 3 months". I thought I was going to get scheduled for surgery to remove the remnants of the tumor that they shot full of radiation and chemo ....but seems although it has shrunk....it is continuing to shrink and they want to give it time to shrink on it's own down to as small as it will go before they finally cut out what's left. So-o-o....we wait again. Also my mouth is still swollen more than they had hoped and they want to give it some more healing time. They were initially surprised that I wasn't eating more solid foods yet -- until they looked in my mouth, then it was "well...no wonder".....so we're back home on "recovery time" until November 14.

Hi Mike,

Shrinking sure beats growing, so hang in there and take each day as it comes, it is hard, but remember, GOD never gives us more than we can handle, even though sometimes we all wish he wasn't so darn confident in us!

You are in our thoughts and prayers,
Thomas

Keep your head high and don't ever give up.

That's a significant part of the answers. Docs will tell you that the single greatest determinant of how well a patient does is how well the patient wants to do and how well they fight for themselves. True grit.

At my son's house in Houston. Went to MD Anderson this a.m. for CT scan, blood work, and Dr visit. The tumor has continued to shrink. After reviewing the CT scan and blood work and sticking a scope down my nose to look directly, they have canceled surgery. THERE'S NOTHING LEFT TO REMOVE! No remnant - nothing! ....The tumor has totally dissipated and all I have left to deal with is the excess fluid - called lymphedema - and I still have healing in my throat to finish.....BUT ...the cancer is gone! At least for now and hopefully forever. I go back every 3 months now for checkup and on a schedule after that for however many years.....but...WOO HOO...I'm free and clear. I sure hope others here can have this kinda luck too.....Jim -- ya listening? Keep following my lead and get better now.
