Just purchased a ym1500.I need help with wiring.alternator has a yellow and red
wire.regulator has a red,yellow and black wire.
if I hook up red to red ;yellow to yellowand black toground.now what wire charges battery
According to this little schematic the wire goes through the ignition switch enroute to the battery. It shows a wire going from the regulator to the ignition switch. OK, I thought the ground was just meaning the regulator is grounded. Most of these regulators bolt to the firewall which grounds them. Sorry it didn't help you.
