I`m considering to buy an appartment/house

I`ve mainly been looking around orlando. But the main reason is that the "norwegian" brokers only have that area available.

I dont have any preferences areawise. I would like it to be countrylike, a really small town. With plenty of space. But if I`m going to rent it, it probably should be in a popular city.

I`ll have a look at the links:)

If the weekly or monthly rental would be managed through a Norwegian broker, an area like Orlando would be most attractive to other Scandinavians/Germans, etc. They like to vacation in warm, sunny places and the Disney attractions are there.

Anything with a good ocean frontage, or easy walk to the beach, is good for weekly rentals. Costs more, but you can get more rent too.

Small town/country locations that will attract renters is probably much more difficult to find. What is the attraction? It may be very nice, but how many would spend their kroner/euro/$ and vacation time to visit such a place? I wonder.

I only visited Norway once, I think it was summer 1987 or so. Beautiful country, beautiful people. We stayed a couple days in Eidfjord. There was a small hotel at the head of the fjord. What a view! I rented a row boat and we rowed across the end of the fjord. My boys were youngsters then and we had a good time.

Dalis it depends on the dollars you have to spend.. Any property along the gulf coast can be used as rental.. There always a house if the money is right.. Lou

The dollars realy depends on the property and its possibilities.
I`m currently looking for anything up to 300.000$ And for that kind of money, I depend on it to be good posibilities for rental.

For weekend/vacation rental, you need the house in a location people want to go for a weekend/vacation. :)

A house in a nice little farm town probably won't have many customers, no matter how nice a place it would be to live.

I saw a documentary about Detroit about a year ago. It didnt look good, with alot of crime, no work, and poor economy.
So thats no subject for me:thumbdown:

Another thing is taxes.
Is it any taxes I have to pay if I rent it out? And is it any taxes when I sell it?

Dalis he was making a joke.. Detroit is more than likely is going to go belly up on it loans and bonds.. Unless the government comes in and bail them out.. But them not being a bank or an insurance company it may not happen:D,,Lou

The rent property I have I let a real estate company handle it,, there is property taxes you have to paid yearly.. You pay taxes on the profit after deductions,, I don't have to pay any sell taxes.. but not sure about the other states.. Lou
