I could not have said it better....I told my dentist I would rather endure a few minutes of pain than have my mouth and face numb for most of the day....It hurts but I'm glad I did it ...I will not use Novocaine again....but I differ with you...it makes you a tough guy too...

You are lucky!!! My jaws ached for DAYS (and not just a dull ache either). And I have to call you out on the "minutes"...if you ever timed it, the amount of time you would feel pain for a drill and fill can be measured in seconds! My dentist used the nitrous though...great stuff other than those fleeting fantasies about the assistant. They didn't last long of course because that's what nitrous does best.

I compare it to one of those roller coaster rides...if you are on the ride it seems to take forever...if you are waiting in line those rides go pretty fast!!!

I hadn't thought about that but you are probably right....when it pain it all goes into slow motion...so it was probably just seconds...Now my jaw did hurt for about 5 days...you are right about that...I was just talking about the pain of the drill and the ice cold water they kept rinsing the unfilled tooth with...Yikes ! ...I did not have any laughing gas...so there's that...I wonder if someone could endure getting a tooth pulled without Novocaine ? I guess they did in the real old days....I bet that smarts pretty good..
