We have a heard of bucks waiting for rut that hang behind our property in the woods, every evening they graze the back of our land and county fields. About dark they line up and cross the road to the soybean field where a herd of does feed, they stay separated for now. I expect the males to soon start splitting up, two of them are huge with big racks! Anyway, we made homemade ice cream a couple of times recently and I poured the brine into an old stump complex to help break it down quicker. I saw one small buck licking it one evening before dark, the next morning there was an area around the base of the stump about 4' wide that looked like it had been tilled and huge sections of the stump were gone. Those deer worked like a stump grinder and cost way less to operate!
