Wow fifty years  glad I don't have to contend with those? No doubt about it the tree blade cutter is good but yesterday evening I was into 2" trees and it flue through those. The FS310 must be a brute. You could strap that on the end of a boat and have an instant air boat

!

Sorry to hear about yours. Is it the same design as mine? Not sure if its true but I hear ShelterLogic isn't great to deal with on warranty issues. Well that's what I remember reading on the reviews before I bought mine. Please let us know how it works out.

Submitted a warranty claim on Shelterlogic's website. Claim approved and they are sending a new top section. Not sure if mine is 7.5oz tarp, but I believe it is. Same price point as yours, but with alpine style roof (higher curve).
Hopefully the new one lasts more than one year!

Mrs. 4shorts does goods work too! Her stuff looks better than factory!

Oh she'll love to hear that :) It will make her day  this photo is just 15km from our town. When I see it now I think about you :D

I was wondering who had the vinyl lettering machine.... Nice

Yup. It's wifey :D

The decals really are a nice touch for the machine in that it's not readily possible to tell if it's factory or if it's 4shorts.

Thanks my friend. It really is amazing how far she has come in a few months with her graphics. She working on something now that when I seen it my jaw dropped. It's such an improvement from a few months ago. When it dries I'll post then and now photos. Thanks for posting. Always nice hearing from you

As is the case with most (all?) of his work...

Thanks Aaron. Wifey and I appreciate the vote of confidence :)

Wow. That's great news. Hope it don't take long for you to receive it. I guess one can't believe all the reviews. Like I've said in the past. Our ShelterLogic is three years old and still looks like new.
Thanks for the update.

That DC-3 might have my fingerprints in it! :D My favorite bird to fly. Too few of them still flying, IMO, but also fewer pilots that *can* fly them. Hope those are good thoughts!

Yes, your wife is a perfectionist, like you. I enjoy seeing her stuff, as well!

I see you mentioned a house generator. What type are you purchasing? What will it be powered by, PTO, LP, natural gas, diesel? I keep watching Craig's list for a PTO one. Let us know how the project goes and of course pictures!

Well Wifey did it again. Made me a custom emblem for the ZG. :cool2:

That decal is impressive! It looks more like a badge (thick plastic). Is the decal covered with resin? Nice work

Cool question. Well I guess I'd have to ask what those 7 acres were like. If it was all unopstructed grounds I'd go with the BX because you can do so much more with the BX other than simply mow grass but if those 7 acres were filled with obstructions such as flower gardens, rock gardens and trees the ZG hands down would be my choice. The ZG is very fast and agile and goes around our property with no damage.
Hope this helps.

Yes it's 7 acres with sidewalks, trees, gardens, buildings, etc. Sounds like you would get the Z.

I'm seriously considering a ZD326. Love the diesel power and overall refinement of machine.

Guess the BX is out.

Thank you very much. Wifey sure likes to get into the technical stuff. She really enjoys learning that sort of thing. That old DC-3 was donated by a good friend of mine. him and his co pilot flue it into a dirt landing strip some years ago, pulled the wigs off of it and towed it to where you see it in the photo. I too love anything aviation and although I've never mentioned it before I also have some history involved in it. One of those days I'll touch on it. Here's some more info on the old bird.

Yes sir. We decided to go with a Honda 6500 model. We don't loose the power much here but one time last winter it went out for 11 hours. The house got cold, no internet, no TV so we had to do the unthinkable, we had to actually talk to each other so rather than go through that again we decided to go with a back up generator  Today I'm installing a wireless remote to it and Monday I start building a shelter for it. I'll post photos if you would like to see it. I think it will be unique when It's completed.

You my friend got a good eye. Yes they really are more of an emblem. They do have a clear coat over them that's UV rated. She's doing a few more for me this evening and I'm more than impressed with the design. Here's how it's applied.

OH ya. Hands down the ZTR would win out in your case. I couldn't justify the diesel for my needs. My area was just to small but I'm so pleased with the ZG.

Paul - I don't know what you have for a generator connection - pony panel / sub panel / backfeed (illegal here) etc - but my Hydro company allows the use of a product called "Generlink", which is an adaptor that goes onto the meter that accepts a special plug from a portable generator. It is essentially a transfer switch right at the meter that allows the use of any circuit in your home, recognizing the wattage limit is about 7K from the gennie. Since I put it in 2 years ago, my gennie has run a grand total of 4 hours on it, lol!!

I'm very interested in seeing the box you make for your unit...thanks for sharing your work with everyone.

I have the same exact Honda generator. I bought it a 1.5 years ago after we lost power for an entire week. Ironically, I haven't lost power since! :)

Also, the wireless remote works really great - the only trouble I ran into was installing it. While it's easy to install, Honda had incorrectly packaged the wrong instructions with ALL of their initial kits so it left me scratching my head for a bit trying to figure it out. Took a call to tech support to finally get a hold of the correct directions, otherwise, it was simple to install. (They even sent me a Honda hat in the mail reporting this issue to them!)

Very interested to see what you come up with for a shelter. I looked at doing something a while back, but never followed through with it.

Finally, I ended up going with the L4760 - just waiting on everything to arrive at the dealer and get setup. Should be a fun first project using it to install the ShelterLogic.
