I have one on my BX24 for the same reasons that you mention. Plus I can Hello to my wife from the field when she comes home from work or signal for attention, sound a toot-toot-bye to the neighbors after I finish work for them. Mine is a single note horn which is plenty loud, mounted to the left side front hood bracket, just behind the headlight housing under the hood. I wired a rubber covered momentary push button starter-switch and mounted the switch next to the drink holder on the left fender. It's right next to my left hand if I need it. And stealthy.

Peter,

Thanks for posting about your horn install. Right now I am looking to mount the horn button on the dash, but that's only if I can find one that looks like it belongs there. If not, then I will probably go with the left side as well - close to where I put my AUX light switches.

Your thread convinced me to install one of these horns on each of our tractors and one on our Polaris Ranger. Best Internet price I found, without spending a lot of time, was here;

http://ridesafer.com/index.php/h0014-cah.html

Horn and wiring kit for $46. Ordered this morning.

If they work well, will order one for our F-350 truck to use when we get stuck behind two Prius' going 15 mph under speed limit side by side on Interstate 10.

Thomas you'll like that horn. Put one on mine a few years ago. I hated the Beep Beep one it had.
Good luck my friend.

Paul,

Thanks for the link! Where do you think I got the idea from? You've been the inspiration for all my projects so far! Back up warning beeper, snow plow conversion, AUX lights. Now the horn project! Next up will be a 12v accessory power outlet and then mirrors! I can't replicate all your projects, but they sure are a source of inspiration. And for those that I can, you set the gold standard for how to get them done the right way!

Someday I'll take a trip to your shop and watch the master at work. That is unless they start doing a new show - "Canadian Restorations". I occasionally watch the American version of that show and he has nothing on you Paul! Keep inspiring us all with your great work.

Thomas

Thanks Thomas for your kind comments. Not sure if I'm worthy of them but nice of you all the same.
I didn't know if you had seen the video. Cool that you did. I'm sure your more than capable of doing the same mods as me.
You also know your welcome here any time. As for the show. Believe it or not it almost happened. Yup it's was cool there for awhile but things just didn't pan out (yet) ;)

Looking forward to seeing ow your horn turns out. :thumbsup:
