Aside from cost, I can't think of any. I really don't even think cost difference is that much.

Although, now I am confused... are you wanting to get solenoid valves, or manual valves?

So is there any disadvantage to getting all of my valves (except the motor) with float?

No, get the valves with the float function and the lone motor spool valve.

You may want to take a look at some other manufacturers valves before you purchase. ;)

Do the valves with float have closed centers so the pistons stay in position when the valve is in neutral?

Any suggestions about what else to look at? I just found these at Grainger in a manner I could finally understand, that is how I stumbled on the Prince.

You can take a look here. You can buy direct or from me and save a few dollars. These Bucher valves are made in Germany, and as of this date, I have had zero complaints about them. A little more compact than the Prince valves and the control lever has a different design to them. Email me and I would be happy to get you a quote for whatever combination of valves that you are considering. I can provide the FEL setup also if you want. ;)

Yes the hydraulics stay in place with the valve in neutral.

those do look like nice valves, but are those the work ports on the top there? I don't know that I would like that.

No, but there is no reason for a third float. Two float valves for T-N-T.

Maybe one motor spool valve for auger unless you will have a valve at the auger, then you can use the three position detent.

You might consider a three position detent for say a log splitter, hyd stump grinder.

Can you please show me a spool valve that has them some place else. Not familiar with any.

I'm not sure they exist, I am used to the solenoid actuated valves at my work and have seen them on all sides.

There is no reason that you can not turn any of the valves upside down.

Just have to remember where the float is.
