No but the seller may try to sue the alleged "eyesore" beholder. The people that care about this the most are the rich, snobby type that usually live in neighborhoods full of other like them, so I don't think it is that big of an issue. I have a few neighbors that have a lot of crap laying around, I saw it before I bought my house, and I still don't give a sh*t about it.

You may not care for yourself, but what is being discussed is the impact it can have on potential buyers should you someday be selling. I wouldn't care how well kept your property is if it is surrounded by trashy places, I won't be buying your house, and you will never know the reason why or that I was even interested.

In addition, trying to justify county ordinances through hypothetical situations and what possibly could happen is ludicrous. Our county has never had any such ordinances and there are no open cesspools with campsites around them.

I did not read them all but the ones I did are violations of local ordinances, not really lawsuits, and definitely not proof of home value depreciation.

And thats what you will mostly find as most people find it much easier and cheaper to simply complain about violations than actually spend money to sue.

And I feel those are extreme cases, I don't see much of that unless it is WAY out in the middle of no where or in a poorly maintained area anyway.

"Spying" has nothing to do with driving past the pile of crap that the mentally deficient owner's are wrapping themselves in. I guess your ideal neighborhood would be house after house with a bunch of junk around them and a couple of old cars with an abused pit bull chained to one. The junk has to be protected for some reason?
