Very neat video. I looked at Google Images for 'wood timber framing' to see if your house was there yet. I think I saw it. {it's hard to tell them apart in the frame stage} But I had to share this bike I found. Never seen anything like it.

Well our project has come to a grinding halt. The lead framer left for vacation the day we started framing. Their other lead is on another project which basically left an unsupervised crew on our site. After checking in this morning on the RO fix for the windows I decided to put a halt to the framing. The fix was almost laughable and additional problems were found. I don't want to turn this into a bash the contractor thread as these guys actually do fantastic work and all of the basement framing looks great that was done under supervision. The lead will be back next Thursday and we will start fresh. Updates and pics when it happens.

How are you enclosing the frame? You're not using sips? Sorry to hear of your problems. We have been waiting on site work since may. Can't wait to see your house move forward.

Sorry to hear of the problems, glad you stepped in and gained control.

We are stick framing and spray foaming instead of sips. The delay shouldn't be a big deal and was the right call considering the direction things were going.

I also know the feeling of waiting on site work. Once it gets done things start moving a lot faster though.

Did you find there to be a big cost difference? Or is there some other reason?

There was a pretty significant price difference between stick framing and sips even after factoring in the cost of spray foam. Also stick framing left us a lot more flexibility now and in the future for electrical, lighting, plumbing etc.

Any chance you'd be willing to share your cost breakdowns for sip vs stick framing/foam? I'd be very interested to see I am dealing with sip quotes now and it is a big decision ($$$). If you'd be willing I can message you my email address.
