Well I guess I found the limit for my little trailer. Decided to try and get two loads of fresh cut birch out of the woods in one load. Ended up making it too top heavy and well the picture tells the tale.

It bent the top portion of the pintle. If I can't straighten it out I'll have to buy a new one just for the top. The lower portion had a hole drilled and most of it cut off so it didn't stick out so far out of my reciever. The rest held up just fine. I unloaded what didn't spill out and I was able to push it back on it's tires.

Glad it did not get torn up too bad.

Dumping offroad, just like the title says.

Wow, looking at the angle of the jeep and how high the right side is, that trailer is really putting some pressure on that hitch. I am surprised you took the time to snap a picture. I would have been tossing wood around like a mad man trying to get the trailer empty.

A good discussion here of the benefits and problems of a rotating lunette.

Yes it was. Like I said it bent the top portion of the pintle. I'll snap a pic later. I wasn't too worried about the Jeep... there was a big tree nearby to catch it if it started to go.

I'm even more convinced that I did the right thing just going with a normal pintle. I get crazy angle out of it... and if I need more it's because I'm doing something wrong... like in this case. I had enough green birch in it to fill it back up twice to the bottom of the boards. I also will be throwing some loggs in that hole to prevent the pucker factor that led to this as well.

As promised;

After taking it off it was obvious my vice wasn't going to straighten it out... so I put it back and beat the ever loving snot out of it with my 4lb mini maul. I also like calling it my LFH ; ) Most used tool I have. Their's now slop in the bolt holes so I can push it to the right and have it look straight and work well, but I can push it to the left and pretty much look like I just rolled it. Not worth replacing, but still sucks.

Well the old trailer's gone. Sold it last night. Pretty mixed feelings as it's been by far my biggest and best project so far, and was extremely handy, but I'm saving up for smaller and better things. LOL

Sold it for what I had into it (minus my time) to a fellow Jeeper that's going to use it more for camping/hunting then work.
