nice trailer , I have been looking for something like that. I don't want to spend 5 grand or more for something I wont use that often.

Check out this thread for discussion and a video.
The video link did not work from my iPad, but it should work from a computer.

Thanks Steve
I will post on that thread so as not to derail this one

Thanks. I've got more to do with this trailer then time to get it done. LOL I'm still around the $2500 mark, and say... 2.5 years into it. Idealy I'd have a truck to go to the quary with then transfer to the Jeep to get it in the trail... but ya can't have it all.

Very nice. That will hold a lot of material.
I think your pivoting boom is an important detail. It extends the lift and keeps the forces pushing in the right direction. Much stronger.

Started on some tree skids today. After taking it through the woods I found that the trailer's tires would butt up against alot of trees that the Jeep had gone around.

getting the angles... the hardest part

two pieces of 2x2x1/8" cut and welded together

while the tire was off to get a better angle to weld, I sprayed the wheel with this stuff. I'd had it for a while but never had the chance. Now it matches the Jeep better! : )

painted and relocated the light

the mudflap bolts really did a number on the tire when the springs settled under load!

Should do the trick. I can see I'll probably use them as steps. I may skin them and use for small storage.

Finished the other side today

Had to test it out and let you guys in on how it works
Tree skid test - YouTube

It barely had a chance to dry. LOL

It had 1/3 load of green spruce in it in the vid. Although that tree's getting removed, I'm happy I bothered doing it. I had the steel laying around, so it was just my time. I think it looks more bad *****! Kind of like an arrow head or something. : )

On a side note, it sure is nice to have weekdays off to work on projects... well, I'm between nightshifts and foregoing sleep, but worth it I think. See, I don't work on these things when the wife and kiddo are around. That's their time. So weekdays that wife's working, and the girl's in daycare are daddy's time. : )

Thanks Whitnel!

I think I'm ready to call this thing done! Here's what I started with;

It's taken way too long, and cost way too much, but in the end I've learned alot, gained alot of experience, and have something that serves my needs that you can't just go to the store and buy... and I think it's kind of cool. LOL Thanks for watching and posting. I hope you like it!!!

THE END!
