4.3" rain, yea!

Those knee pain block injections wore out after 36 hours so I'm having to start the prescription meds.
A suicidal rabbit took out the grill on the Prius and died behind it so I had to wobble out and do a rabbit pull. ARRG.

4.3" rain, yea!

Well the weather is turning bad, so we might as well eat.:D
My wife just baked this peach pie.:licking:

3/4 cup shortening (Crisco) to make the double crust.

Oy Vey! But we cut it into 8 slices and have one slice each night each for 4 nights.
That's 4.5 grams saturated fat
0 trans fat
9 grams Polyunsaturated fat
3.7 grams Monounsaturated fat
0 cholesterol
0 sodium
3 % of daily vitamin A requirements
22 % of Vitamin E requirement

We eat it for the vitamin E:)

And then there's the Ice Cream on top:licking:

At least you got me thinking about it... TxDon

Time for the treadmill:)

In baking we substitue applesauce for the oil/shortening - that way less time is needed on the treadmill.

I ran a double shot of Seafoam in the tank with fresh gas + Carb cleaner straight into the throat. It is running, but not as it should (rough and under power). Yes it is air cooled.

From searching Onan and RV forums, this is the most common problem with the Onan, one thing for sure, they have to n
be cycled under load for an hr or two a month to prevent varnish buildup with the ethanol fuels we have now. The carbs are EPA certified, so no rebuildable parts, meant as a total replacement, dumb, but a California rule i understand.

Here is a short thread with almost the same symptoms I have, and no doubt gas was allowed to age in the tank for who knows how long!

Dennis,
Try the Onan 4C they are talking about on the link you provided. Also...........have you replaced your fuel filters?

I hurt my knee (meniscus) last October playing basketball at church. Gradually got better
And to the point where everyday life was no problem. Even played basketball again last week.
So, what happens? After going up and down ladder to get in attic about a bajillion times it cratered
On me and down I came splitting head open by hitting corner of wall. Now I'm sitting in recliner
With pillow under knee catching up on TBN. Can barely walk and u guys switched to fall winter
Thread. I just caught up.
Wife wanted to rearrange room and paint. TV was mounted on different wall so I had to go
In attic to hook that coaxial to splitter. Could never get satellite reception therefor the bajillion trips
Up and down. To add insult to injury, my son came home for the weekend yesterday morn and decided to
Have a look in attic. I was on my way up to be up there with him when knee gave out
And fell. And we got reception on his one trip to the attic so turns out didn't need to go
Up there.

Morning Mist.
I shot this from the porch this morning at 07:30
Now it is totally overcast, cool, and getting ready to rain.
Ron
Ron,
Awesome shot. Reminds me of the mornings I would meet the mail plane and the sun would be breaking over the pine trees near IAH.

TxDon,
I love your "pasture" shots. Do you get many bluebonnets. I know Jim planted his!

I woke up mid morning to another thunderbumper and heavy rain. Rolled over and went back to sleep. It was short lived and only dumped 1.2 inches in the gage, but the island pond came up about 1.5 feet.

Last three weekends have had heavy rain. I have not been out dancing and was wondering when Y'all dance again..............can you do it in the middle of the week? At least turn Y'alls butts towards far west Texas?

I've heard the same thing. Flies have hatched out here. Going to be real cold, and I was suppose to start getting things in order but rain/mud trapped me inside plus football. Got just over an inch.

Cool thanks... I usually can treat once and the fly/mineral tubes will take care of them but I have treated them 3 times past couple months, actually last time was 9/16 and they need it again already.

No, no. I TRANSPLANTED my bluebonnets.:D:D They were whole plants with seed pods. I did spread them around, but I didn't just plant seeds. The tract where I scraped off the seeds, I dragged over and spread plants with seeds around. The new owner of that property built a house with a deck so he and his wife can overlook that field of bluebonnets. If anything, where I took the bluebonnet plants, there were more there these last two years than when I took the transplants. That acre of bluebonnets is now covering 2-1/2 acres and still growing. . . and Lou, that land never was good for hay. No hay was harmed in the production of these wildflowers.

Don,
We will give applesauce a try. Always willing to try something new.
Now if I can talk the chef/baker/candle stick maker, into it:D

How about them Aggies yesterday? 45-33 over Arkansas. More like a basketball score. Gig'em Aggies.

Bluebonnet's don't like my type of beach sand soil. I do have few come up every year, (very small) and you have to look hard to find them.

Don,
What is your recipe for an applesauce pie crust?
I see applesauce used as a partial substitute for oil but not for shortening.
substitutions - Why can applesauce be used in place of oil? - Seasoned Advice

If you are looking for the traditional perfect flakey fat laden piecrust like you are use to forget it. The applesauce makes the crust harder. It's best to completely redesign the crust. There is one with grape nuts cereal but I can't find it right now. There are also some date nut crust that are also good, but you have to watch the fat count in the nuts used. There is just not enough health value in a sugar/fat pie to excite me, only enough to remind me of my ambo ride. But a challenge to you - Can you make a heart healthy pie that taste good even to you?

Hey I'm doing the same thing but also with ice. If you need to get it fixed I know a good Doc in College Station if you are near there.

I do same thing with mineral stuff and use a knockdown spray on daily feeding. I share a fence line with a few other cattlemen that are more "substance" so I have never been able to shake the flies.
These have been effective for grasshoppers though.

Brandi, My understanding is they dont make the "4C" any more and it was more used for a combustion chamber cleaner, similar to Seafoam. Being it was the weekend, no way to get filters.

I will try Cummins in Ft worth. I want to change the oil filter also, I dont know what it is and if fuel has been able to bypass the cylinders to the oil. I will also get a fuel filter, but will likely try to use up this tank of gas unless forced to change it 1st, No telling what residues where/are in there!! Manual has first oil change at 20 hrs, but you know how that goes on an engine that has mostly sat there!

Holy Onan Power Batman...............FOAM the runway and get rid of that tank of gas. No telling what all is in it........probably a lot of moisture from sitting. Could even have some rust in it. At 7 hours running, I don't see gas getting past the rings, unless it was ran out of oil once. The oil may have condensation (moisture) in it also. Always change all fluids and filters when you do not know the history of any engine or equipment that uses any type of fluids.
hugs, Brandi
