In cab fire extinguisher mount

The Velcro is a possibility, but I would like something that looks good as well. I also don't want to be in a situation where I need the extinguisher and I need to use both hands to pry it off of the floor. It is a crew cab truck with carpet over the tunnel. I was recently at a car show and I saw a Porsche 911 with a fire extinguisher mounted in front of the passenger seat with the mount bolted to the seat rails. I have been looking for something similar but have struggled to find something that may work in a truck. I am also concerned about limiting my seat travel if I mount anything directly to the seat rails as well as kicking the thing every time I am getting in or out of the truck. Here is an example of what I have seen on some other vehicles.

Buy a fire extinguisher with a mount...All you have to do is un-clip the straps to release it, the mounting hardware is irrelevant.. Had one of those in my Chevelle.

Sew a bag that fits the extinguisher with material the same color as your upholstery and add straps to attach it to the seat frame. Fas-tech fasteners like on backpacks or quality mountain gear.

I actually never thought about this until my buddys wreck. I saw the truck first hand at the junk yard afterwards. I was amazed at the internal damage from the items I mentioned.

In all seriousness its unlikely to kill you but even a coffee mug or a can of unopened soda could in such a accident.

As an EMT years ago I responded to the scene of an S10 Blazer vs telephone pole. Drunk driver and passenger, car rolled several times before coming to rest in a front yard of a home. Rear compartment was full of big heavy tools like ratcheting comealongs . Neither guy survived as I remember.

Of course I drive around in my truck with heavy stuff in the bed and trailer, and no bulkhead behind me...

I have been looking to install a fire extinguisher inside the cab and I have a few different criteria that I want to fire extinguisher mount to fulfill.

What type of extinguisher - Dry Chem or Halotron? Halotron is more expensive but recommended for vehicles.

I was driving a car one day and the owner had taken the air filter off. The car backfired through the carb and caught fire. I called for a fire truck but before they got there I had located a six pack in the rear floor board and shook one up and popped a top and the fire was out before the firetruck got there. After a few minutes the thing started right up and I drove it straight to the jail.

I saw a car at the drag strip backfire through the carb (something Chevys are famous for) when he went to do a burnout. It had a cowl hood on it and you could see the fire. The car was a pretty fast car, it had a roll cage and a 6 point harness. The guy working the burnout box did not know what was going on and the driver was trying to get out out the car. A guy walked up with a big lemonade and threw it under the cowl hood and put the fire out. The guy started the car back up and ran it.

I think some do. That was the one and onlt time I've ever needed a fire extinguisher around a vehicle.

I did see one burned to the ground on the side of I35 the other day. Fire trucks still there but it was a crispy critter. Caused a big traffic back up too.

I recently bought a 2.5 lb ABC extinguisher with a mounting bracket included. It would be nice to figure out a way to attach a mount using some of the existing hardware and attach the fire extinguisher bracket to that. I have been throwing around a few ideas with a friend of mine who is a fabricator. Hopefully I can articulate what I am after and let him take care of all the welding. If the first try doesn't look like a pile of scrap, I will make sure to post pictures. Thanks for the help so far. I think I will try and stay away from the beer and lemonade method so I have something to drink when I get home.
