DK45 FEL capacity issues?

I stand corrected about others having issues with the vent 'kit'. :confused3:
And to the OP, did you say yet if you have had the rear remote activated when having issues with your FEL?
(BTW, this discussion isn't a hijack of the OP's thread), it is however a pertinent clue to the OP's FEL issues, especially if the vent kit is being used without the new vent working properly.

Sorry- No. Your comment was in the middle of the back hoe discussion and I thought it was directed at someone else.
I do have T-N-T connected all of the time but they were not being used for anything. Plus I have removed the detent for that one pesky valve so it could not get locked into an active position.

OK, well that eliminates the rear remotes from the issue. Thanks for confirming. FWIW, often owners make up a loop of hose to plug into the detented remote to effect the same result.

That gave my an Idea. Bottom out on of your TNT cylinders and listen for the relief valve, tell us if you hear anything different.

I have the ROBB on there now and bottomed out each cylinder with the ROBB sitting on the ground. When each cylinder bottomed, it sounded like the engine came under a small additional load and the RPMs dropped a very small amount.

That sounds normal. Does your FEL do the same thing when it hits its limit?

Not sure if this helps but my Kubota BX 2200 makes a loud squeal when loader is maxed out. My Kioti 45 makes no sound at all. The only warning signs are RPM drop.

Redneck- yes this does make me feel better.

The tractor will stall at times with the RPMs ~ 1800 or so. And at this point I do not know if I am also moving forward along while lifting with the bucket deep into the earth or just lifting with the FEL with the bucket in deeply. I think there may be a fine here I am unsure of.

The other day I had the rock grapple teeth stuck under a large, life oak root which kept the FEL from lifting. And the engine did not stall, as I was lifting to no avail- many times. I do not recall if the RPMs dropped as this is a small drop and I was concentrating on other things. So at this point I now have to wonder if my issue was moving forward while heavy lifting with the bucket planted deeply while lifting that may have caused or contributed to the stalling, or not.

But either way I would think that this particular tractor should not be stalling at this RPM range for any of the things I am doing. Or maybe it is just a learning experience. In any case, the inline gauge testing parts should be here tomorrow and I will assemble and test, maybe Sunday- assuming I ordered the correct couplings. Saturday is already programmed for other tractor activities. I will post my results when I have them after thorough testing and this issue should then be put to bed. And maybe it will be a good reference for others in the future.

sdef, I have worked my FEL on my DK40HST...hard. Yes I have stalled out the tractor by going in too fast into gravel or dirt and no letting up when I took too big of a bite and I think that is normal. When mine max's out on lift there is almost no whine...it just stops lifting, but there is a subtle tone change in the hydro . Anytime I am lifting heavy things, I run it at max rpm...2500, right on that little red line. 2,000 rpm is too low for these HST tractors to get full lift potential out of them. From what I have read here, I don't think you have a problem, you are just trying to work outside of it's design parameters. HST's require more finesse then a gear tractor & it takes a while to get the hang of it.

1800 is a bit low for that tractor if you are doing real work. Consider 2000 as a minimum when you are trying to get things done. The HST in med will eat up your power quickly if you are in mud or whatnot.
